BOUND FOR GLORY 2015The show opens up with Donald Trump front and center of the ring for the first time since purchasing TNA.
Donald Trump: "My fans, welcome to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling! We can not begin to thank you enough for the support we've had poured in the last number of weeks. In all my ventures, this definitely seemed to be the most challenging and the steepest hill to climb. Boy, did I underestimate you fans!"
The crowd cheers for the owner, or more so, themselves.
Donald Trump: "I can tell you all want to see another promotion thrive and succeed. At that other place, you never know what you're going to get. Are you going to get John Cena? Are you going to get Randy Orton? Are you going to get Dwayne Johnson? Brock Lesnar? Or how about another title run by Vince? Nobody's had the jewels to challenge that other place, which I won't even speak the name of, so they've been coasting for the last decade and a half. But this all is changing. Everybody else will have to step up their game, or we're going to run rough shot through the pro wrestling industry! Consider tonight the night we declare war on them all! Tonight, we bring to you Bound For Glory!"
Donald Trump waves to the crowd, as the lights dim and we see a video package in place for tonight's show.
TNA Tag Team Championships MatchTwo Cool Bucks(c) vs. The Wolves
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Matt Jackson and Davey Richards are the legal men at this point.
Kurt Angle: "I think Matt just took Davey's head off with that Superkick!"
Matt covered Davey, and only got a two count, as he argued the call with the referee. Matt then picked Davey up by the head and threw him into the Young Bucks corner, before making the tag *NICK JACKSON NOW LEGAL*. Nick sits on the top turnbuckle, as Matt puts Davey in position for a Powerbomb, but Davey begins to punch Matt, and he then avoids this with a hurricanrana, but it appears that Matt's head landed in Nick's crotch, who had his legs too far apart apparently. Davey Richards then threw Matt Jackson out of the ring, and then hit a hurricanrana on Nick, pulling him off the ringpost. Davey then got up and saw Matt Jackson stirring on the outside, and then Davey Richards rebounded himself off the ropes, which Eddie reached in for the tag *EDDIE EDWARDS NOW LEGAL* and Davey hit a Suicide Dive out on Matt Jackson! Davey picked Matt back up, and then threw him in the way for Eddie's Suicide Dive! Edwards then slid into the ring and saw Nick making it to his feet, and then hit a Superkick, before taunting to the crowd.
Don West: "You know that's going to get under the Young Bucks' skin!"
Eddie dove for the cover, but only got a two out of it. Eddie then looked over to the corner and tagged in his partner *DAVEY RICHARDS NOW LEGAL* before Eddie popped Nick up in the air, Davey landing the kick. Richards then hooked the leg, and only got two again. The Wolves got frustrated, before signaling the end of this, and Edwards lifted Nick Jackson up in a Powerbomb position, as Davey elevated himself with the double knee backbreaker, executing Force of Nature. Davey then dug in for the cover, but at this time, Matt Jackson had came to, and Eddie Edwards couldn't hold Matt off, as Matt superkicked Eddie Edwards, and Edwards fell on top of his partner, breaking their own count! Davey then pushed his partner off of him, as Matt Jackson then landed a Superkick on Davey! The crowd rose in applause, as Matt smirks to the camera, before dragging his brother across the ring, to their corner, as Matt got back on the apron, leaned down, and tagged himself in *MATT JACKSON NOW LEGAL*. Matt then kicked Eddie out of the ring and to the floor, before Matt grabbed Davey and hit the Rope Hung DDT! Matt went for the cover, but Davey got his foot on the bottom rope! Matt then dragged him to the center of the ring, before executing a moonsault on Davey Richards! Matt covered Davey again, but Eddie had recouped and broke the pinfall up! Nick had also come to, and Nick ran after and tackled Eddie Edwards through the ropes. Matt got up and Davey was dazed on his own, as Matt then tried for a Superkick, but Davey slipped under it! Davey then hit a dropkick, and Matt was so close to the corner, that he just bounced off the corner, dazed. Davey had to get his feet back under him after the dropkick, and Matt bounced off the corner and nailed a Superkick that could be heard in the nosebleeds! Matt dropped down with nothing left, as the referee counted the three!
King of the Mountain Championship MatchJeff Jarrett(c) vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Kenny King vs. Colt Cabana vs. Shelton Benjamin
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
In Penalty Box: None .. Eligible To Climb: Jarrett, King, Cabana, Benjamin
Mr. Anderson was wrecking havoc through the competition! He had nailed King, Cabana, and Jarrett, he then was faced with a charging Shelton Benjamin clothesline, which he dunked and then hit the Mic Check! Mr. Anderson rolled Shelton Benjamin over, and got the cover making everyone eligible in the match *BENJAMIN TO THE PENALTY BOX*.
Kurt Angle: "Now it's gotten real, Don! Anyone can place the title up there to become the new chammpion!"
Mr. Anderson was caught shouting "Get out of my company!" to Benjamin, when he was then attacked by Colt Cabana. Anderson fought Cabana off before then pushing his face into the middle turnbuckle. Anderson then pulled Colt back up and hit the Mic Check on him, before pinning him with the 1-2-3! *CABANA TO THE PENALTY BOX*. Anderson then towered over Colt saying, "This is my territory!".. Mr. Anderson then began to pick the ladder up, which was laying down in the ring, before realizing Kenny King was stirring. Anderson grinned as he went over to Kenny, turned him around, and laid the Mic Check on him, before covering him *KING TO THE PENALTY BOX*! Mr. Anderson smiled, as he knew he had just one man to get out before he had all the time in the world to claim himself to be King of the Mountain. At this time, Kenny King and Colt Cabana were slowly making their way to the Penalty Box, feeling the effects of this match. Mr. Anderson then measured Jeff Jarrett up and tried to attempt the Mic Check, but Jarrett got out of it and set up The Stroke, before Mr. Anderson got out of that and ended up hitting the Mic Check to a boom from the crowd! Mr. Anderson rolled the deadweight over and pinned the reigning champion *JARRETT TO THE PENALTY BOX*. Mr. Anderson then taunted, shouting over Jarrett "I'm the King of the Mountain!". Anderson then cockily kicked Jarrett and pushed him out of the ring with his boot, falling hard to the floor.
Don West: "Kurt, and now all Mr. Anderson has to do is take the title, climb the ladder, and suspend it. We're going to have ourselves a new King of the Mountain Championship!"
Mr. Anderson cockily waved at the people already in the Penalty Box, as Jarrett was able to crawl into the Penalty Box which was crowded as it was. Mr. Anderson then got out of the ring, taking the title from a referee, before parading the belt in the faces of the competitors, helpless and defenseless at this point. Anderson pulled the title in, before climbing up on the apron and stepping through the 1st and 2nd ropes. Anderson picked the ladder up and set it in the mid center of the ring, as all the competitors could do is watch the 2:00 counter go down, as it was painful to see Ken pick the title up off the mat and then begin to slowly climb, taking his time to rub it in their faces, up the ladder. Ken Anderson reaches the top, as he then gets the title up there on the hook, before the lights go out... Moments later, it's restored, with Mr. Anderson vanished!
Don West: "What the..?!"
Kurt Angle: "Where's Mr. Anderson?!"
Don West: "Mr. Anderson's gone! There's no sign of the Loudmouth... We were sure to have a new champion! Where is he?!"
Kurt Angle: "Now just 30 seconds before all four men are released into the pond, with the match still going.. But where is Anderson?!"
Don West: "Oh, they're not waiting for this timer to go, Kurt. They are getting a headstart right now! They know how big this is."
The four men, after a state of shock and confusing, were then realizing they had a shot, as a brawl ensued in the penalty box, as they could only get enough moving room to throw ineffective punches. Then the buzzer sounded, as the referee opened it up and Jarrett and King fell out of the penalty box, and Cabana and Benjamin stepped over them, then beginning a brawl on the outside between the four. Cabana and Benjamin, Jarrett and King. We then see Cabana win his battle, as he entered the ring with the belt and began to climb the ladder already set up, but at the same time, Jarrett won his battle and he began to climb up the other side. Cabana and Jarrett were throwing punches, trying to get the other off. Benjamin then, still possessing awareness, pulled a ladder out from beneath the ring and slid it in while the two were going at it. Benjamin set the ladder up next to theirs, as Benjamin climbed up and tried to pry the title from Cabana's hands, but Cabana wasn't allowing it, and neither was Jarrett. The three were throwing punches at each other and trying to possess the title, but couldn't. Kenny King then rolled into the ring and slowly climbed up next to Jarrett. The four men tussled, before we see Shelton Benjamin knocked off the ladder! Kenny King plays tug of war with Cabana and the title, and as Kenny pulled it towards him, Cabana's face lunged and Jarrett's right fist connected, as this knocked Cabana off course. Kenny King then held on to the title and somehow maintained his balance, and then put it on the very top of the ladder, just as Jarrett then grabs Kenny's head and smashes it onto the centerpiece of the belt! Kenny King falls off the ladder, back slamming down on the mat, as Jeff Jarrett picks the title up off the top of the ladder beside him, before stepping up to that next rung, putting the title on the hook, as the bell is called for and his music hits!
Don West: "Jarrett did it! Jeff Jarrett survives and successfully defends his championship! Jarrett's still King of the Mountain!"
Kurt Angle: "Yeah, but the question is, where is Mr. Anderson, and what happened?"
The Young Bucks are welcomed by Jeremy Borash, as he congratulates them on their successful title defense, which they are on cloud nine after beating The Wolves, and Nick speaks up about being very excited about coming back to TNA to claim the gold they never held, saying this was what they had to come back for. Matt adds in that there is one other thing, and that's domination. Nick agreed, as JB then asks The Young Bucks about the X-Division Championship Match later tonight, which Matt says they saw the man earlier today around town, and nobody's going to see it coming! They walk off, still on their cloud nine.
6-Man Invitational GauntletWinner receives a $500,000 TNA Impact Wrestling Contract!
The first entrant is... ANGELICO! Angelico was greeted with a positive reaction from the crowd, as they were absolutely shocked to hear he was in the gauntlet.
The second entrant is... SHANE STRICKLAND! Shane Strickland was welcomed with a dead crowd, with a few cheers, as many were won over by Angelico!
Match Summary:
Angelico and Shane Strickland showed off their incredible athleticism and high-flying abilities, as Angelico was actually getting in more of the offense, about 60%. It was "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better", but Angelico hit Fall Of The Angels, a running crucifix turnbuckle powerbomb, and that was the deciding factor.
The third entrant is... CODY HALL! Here come the son of the man who made the crucifix powerbomb famous, Scott Hall. Cody came down with a mixed reaction, but he was playing as a heel.
Match Summary:
Angelico tried to use his agility and quickness to get to Cody Hall, but Cody was breaking Angelico down. Cody lacked ring experience, however. Hall took much disrespect towards Angelico using his father's move, as he shouted "This is how it's down", and Cody tried it, but Angelico slid off the back, and hit a good enzuigiri, before driving him into the corner and then striking him with a knee. Cody fell down to the mat, as Angelico got up and hit the Superman Senton, pinning Hall.
The fourth entrant is... MATT CROSS! Matt probably got the second-biggest ovation from the crowd behind Angelico, who he was up against now.
Match Summary:
Angelico and Matt Cross stood at least for a minute, staring each other down, Angelico in shock, as the intelligent crowd ate it up. This showed many reversals, being a little familiar with each other. Matt Cross positioned Angelico for a superplex, but Angelico reversed it, before lifting Matt Cross himself, and then throwing him behind him! The crowd was shocked as Cross took an awful fall, barely missing the steps, but Cross' legs hit the steel guardrail, and his head hit hard. Cross slowly began to stir as the ref's count began to get higher, and Angelico ran across the ring, jumping over the corner, and hitting a crossbody to the floor! The crowd gave the loudest pop of the night, as both men were down, and the ref restarted the count. Angelico ended up getting first and sliding in at 7, as Cross could only get to the edge of the ring before it reached 10.
The fifth entrant is... DYLAN BOSTIC! The crowd booed Bostic, as he came out with a mic and a swagger to him, which Bostic got some heat.
Match Summary:
While Angelico was on his knees, panting, Bostic walked down to the ring talking smack, saying he'll show he's strong enough to prove the entire world he not only belongs here, but he should've been handed his contract. Bostic, standing on the ring apron, said looking at his competition, it won't be that much more work if he had been handed the contract. Angelico didn't take too kind to this, as he allowed no offense, before hitting a full nelson facebuster, putting Bostic away.
The sixth entrant is... CALEB KONLEY! Konley was recognized by a small portion of the fans, as he came to the ring as the 6th and final entrant in this gauntlet.
Match Summary:
After lasting the entire competition, Angelico was faced with a man who has been huge in the indies, and Caleb was picking him apart. Konley ended up hitting two devastating tornado DDTs, which Angelico willfully kicked out of, and Konley couldn't believe it. Konley locked in the Reverse Boston Crab on Angelico, and after the fear of tapping, Angelico finally made it to the bottom rope. Caleb Konley then perched himself on the top rope and waited, trying to execute a Tornado DDT, before Angelico threw him down. Angelico went on the offensive, before hitting a full nelson facebuster on Konley, then putting him in position for the Superman Senton, pinning him!
Don West: "Wow, what have we just seen!! Angelico went through everything the world of professional wrestling had to throw at him, and he conquered them all?!"
Angelico's celebrating in the ring, when Donald Trump then heads to the ring and when Angelico sees it, then gets emotional. Donald Trump hands Angelico a check, as he shows it off.
Don West: "It's a big deal when Donald Trump hands you a check in front of the entire world!"
Kurt Angle: "Don, let me say this, I'm impressed. This kid might have the best future! And with Shawn Michaels wanting to put more of an emphasis on the X-Division, this kid will bring legitimacy to it."
A hype video's shown for the Knockouts Championship Match between challenger Gail Kim and champion Awesome Kong in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, as some of the clips show their very first match against each other, trying to date all their rival history... Before the match happens though, Marti Bell comes out next to the commentary table to watch.
2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the TNA Knockouts ChampionshipAwesome Kong(c) vs. Gail Kim
Fall One-
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Awesome Kong and Gail Kim had battled for nearly 10 minutes, until Kong had gained control. She had hit a diving splash, and was shocked to have Kim kick out. Kong wondered what she had to do, before she lifted Gail for the Awesome Bomb, before Gail Kim struggles, and then ends up hitting a sunset flip powerbomb! This was transitioned nicely into a pin as the crowd gasped, and Kim had gained the first fall!
After the bell, and with a short pause in the action, Jade then comes down to watch the match, getting both Kong's and Kim's attentions, as Jade went to stand beside Marti Bell.
Fall Two-
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Awesome Kong used the distraction to her advantage, to get a blindside attack on Gail Kim, and dominated the second portion of this match, before finally hitting the Implant Buster, and Kong went for the cover... But raised Gail's head at 2? The ref complained before Kong shook her head, and then used the Awesome Bomb to tie this up at 1 a piece.
The referee tried to instill a break from the action, but he had to keep Awesome Kong away from the challenger, which was a task in of itself. A couple referees came down to help convince Kong to stay in her corner. At the time of this chaos, Taryn Terrell heads down with a smirk, who has special interest because she is next in line for a title shot. Terrell squeezed in between Jade and Marti Bell, who were standing by the commentary table.
Fall Three-
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
The champion Awesome Kong was wo-manhandling Gail for the third fall. Kong wanted to put Gail away with and put a groggy Kim in position for the Implant Buster, but Gail dropped and rolled out of the ring instinctively. Kong reached down to Gail, who nailed Awesome Kong in the head, which rattles the champion backward. Gail hops on the apron and is able to hit a springboard crossbody, with being in a pinning predicament, but only gets two before Kong pushes her off. Gail Kim and Awesome Kong get back up and brawl and go at it, before Gail dunked a spinning backfist, and does a drop toehold, Awesome Kong knocking her head on the middle turnbuckle. Kim locked the ringpost figure four in, but the referee made her break it at 4 obviously. Gail, before getting in the ring, signaled towards Taryn Terrell, which upset The Dollhouse, but Terrell kept them contained. Kim rose to the top rope, and once Kong rose to her feet, dove and tried hitting a Hurricanrana, but Kong had enough strength to prevent that, but turn it into an Awesome Bomb!! Kong pinned Kim, sticking her tongue out.
As Awesome Kong celebrated her title defense, she kept a sadistic smile on her face, as she stared off The Dollhouse.
Jeremy Borash is backstage when he introduces the newest member to the TNA Impact Wrestling roster, Angelico, which the fans seeing it on the titantron cheer. JB asks what's on his mind. Angelico was all over the place with his mind and words, but is quickly shut down when Ciampa walks in the shot and stares Angelico to a pile of dust, as JB stands in the middle a bit intimidated. Ciampa says..
"How tough are you going to look when you step in the ring with me tomorrow night? Get ready." .. before walking off. JB and Angelico look in that direction, as Borash just exclaims that he thinks Angelico has his first contracted match tomorrow night against Ciampa!
Loser Leaves TNA MatchJessie Godderz vs. Robbie E
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Robbie E and Jessie was the shortest match of the night, and after playing mind games, reversals, and pulling out their best shots to get the W early and keep their TNA careers. Jessie had kicked out of a Shore Thing. Robbie was stressing how to put him away, as Robbie E then slung Jessie groggily into a corner. Robbie E backed up and tried to connect with a running knee smash into the corner, but Jessie slithered out of the way and rolled Robbie up from behind!! ONLY TWO!
Kurt Angle: "That was close! Robbie E's career was almost over!"
Robbie got up shocked and was met with a lariat. Jessie tried going for the cover there, but Robbie was smart enough to roll under the bottom rope. Jessie then fumed for a moment before getting up to the top rope, diving from the top to the floor on the outside, as Robbie moves out of the way and Godderz takes a hard fall. Robbie, realizing his moment to seize, picked Jessie up and rolled him in the ring and then scrambling for a cover. Jessie kicked out!
Don West: "I'm surprised Jessie can even breathe after taking that fall to the outside. Let's see that again..."
As they're showing the replay, Robbie's getting the nerve up to hit FTD, but Jessie throws Robbie down to the mat. Once Robbie gets up, Jessie sweeps him off his feet and back on the mat, looking for the Adonis Crab, but Robbie E swinging his legs, avoiding that. Robbie gets up and sends an oncoming Godderz shoulder-first in the corner. Jessie comes out of it and gets hit with the FTD! Robbie E pulls him out closer to the center, but Godderz kicks out!!
Don West: "Wow! What's it going to take?"
Kurt Angle: "Must I say, I've never seen either of these two bring it all like they have tonight."
Don West: "Perhaps there's something about fighting for your livelihood that brings something out of you, you never knew you had!"
As West is saying that, Robbie's gotten up shaking in anger, as he waits for Jessie to get up and then tries the Boom Drop, but Jessie counters into a Stunner! Jessie makes the cover, and Robbie grabs onto the rope behind him! Godderz gets frustrated and goes on an assault before being pulled off by the referee. As Jessie pushes the referee past him and goes back to Robbie, Robbie E shoves his foot into Godderz' groin, and the ref never saw it! Robbie E hopped back up and finally hit the FTD! Robbie E optimistically turned the deadweight over, and retained his career!
Don West: "Not this way, not this way! Tell me it's not so Kurt!"
Robbie's going insane in the ring, celebrating a huge win to stay in the company, as the fans aren't that excited about it, or this match in general.
Kurt Angle: "When you're in those situations, you have to do whatever it takes to win. Your natural instinct as a competitor is to survive. Good for Robbie, but Jessie has to be sent packing."
As Robbie exits the ring and begins taking selfies with the fans in the front row, Jessie slowly comes to reality in the ring. Jessie gets up emotionally, waving goodbye to the fans, as his former tag team partner is up at the top of the stage, laughing and taking selfies of himself, enjoying this win.
We have a video package displaying Chris Sabin's return before the X-Division Champion goes out for his match...
Chris Sabin gets on the mic, bashing his opponent and not caring who it would be. He then hollers for them to get out there, when the Two Cool Bucks come out with their tag titles. Matt takes the mic and says they said they were tight with his challenger, and it's one who wants the X-Division title back more than anything. Sabin hangs on the word "back" at the same time as AJ Styles' music hits!!...... AJ STYLES IS BACK?!?!?!
The crowd at Bound For Glory goes insane and here AJ Styles walks out, shaking the hands of the tag champs, before storming to the ring, Sabin exiting for his life, as Styles takes it all in, posing to the crowd.
X-Division Championship Match
Chris Sabin(c) vs. AJ Styles w/Two Cool Bucks
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Kurt Angle: "How did Sabin do that?!"
Don West: "Chris Sabin plays possum to an airborne AJ Styles and catches him, somehow, with a spinning powerbomb!"
Kurt Angle: "But Don, AJ still kicked out!"
AJ Styles and Chris Sabin are worn down and beaten after the match, and once they both make it up to their feet, they begin to trade blows, beginning to make the crowd hold their breath. All of a sudden, Styles begins to gain some steam, before Sabin tries to strike back, in which AJ ducks and hits the Pele Kick! AJ then sets up for a Styles Clash, but Sabin gets out of it. Sabin then gets in for the Cradle Shock, but Styles gets out of it. They then lock up and hit some forearms before Sabin nails the big shot, before rebounding himself off the ropes and charging at Styles, but eats the boot. Styles then is able to hit a Springboard 450 Splash, before going for the pin! Sabin kicks out at two!
Don West: "What a series of events!"
Kurt Angle: "I've been in this position before. That was a shot of adrenaline, and after that's gone, you don't know how to beat out your opponent."
AJ Styles gets up, catching his breath, before trying to hit his Styles Clash, in which Sabin counters into a pin attempt! Styles barely gets out of it, as the crowd is back on their feet. Sabin gets up and Styles hits another Pele Kick, in which Sabin bounces right off the ropes and hits a clothesline. Both men are laid out in the middle of the ring, as the referee gets down to check on them. All of a sudden, the referee's pulled out of the ring by the boot and clotheslined on the floor. The camera shows it as a fierce man.
Kurt Angle: "Don! That's Aiden O'Shea!"
Don West: "What is he doing out here?!"
Aiden O'Shea then turns his attention to the ring. O'Shea then gets inside and picks AJ Styles up to hit a Barrell Roll Driver.
Don West: "Did he come out to help Sabin? Sabin, that filthy weasel!"
Aiden O'Shea looks down at Styles before getting out of the ring. He looks at the referee, and then back into the ring. Chris Sabin's come to and looks around, seeing the opportunity. He begins to crawl and lays his hand over AJ's lifeless body. Aiden O'Shea then makes a decision to slide back in the ring and picks Sabin up, pushes him into the ropes and hits a Boomstick Lariat! Aiden then looks at Chris Sabin before demanding a microphone. O'Shea stands in the ring as many are wondering what's happening right before their eyes.
Aiden O'Shea: "Ten, eighteen, fifteen... I told you I was going to be here."
This completely silences the crowd.
Aiden O'Shea: "I'm the Lonesome, One-Leaf Clover, and I'm Aiden O'Shea... And this X-Division? It's DEAD!"
O'Shea drops the mic before headed out of the ring, looking back at his destruction work. After O'Shea has already left, an additional referee runs down from the back. He checks on the competitors inside the ring and calls the match.
We witness the video package for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match, as our main event is next. The package includes the arrival of John Hennigan in the company, as well as the title shot he was cost.
TNA World Heavyweight Championship MatchEthan Carter III(c) w/Tyrus vs. John Hennigan
[ CLOSING MOMENTS ]
Don West: "The men are giving it all! Hennigan couldn't bring Carter down with a superplex, and-"
Kurt Angle: "And EC3 hit an elbow drop! Michaels-esque, Michaels-esque!"
Carter had only gotten a two out of it, but goes back on the attack while Hennigan's still on the ground, in which the referee pulls him off. EC3 goes back and gets pulled away again, but then goes back and gets caught into a schoolboy pin, which Hennigan nearly got the best of EC3, but Carter got out before it was too late. Ethan then got up and wanted to yell a word at the referee, but got caught by the offensive attack by Hennigan, which was preluded by punches, a few kicks, and then a clothesline that knocked Carter to the outside. EC3 landed on his feet on the floor, but Hennigan hopped on the top rope and landed a Springboard 450 Plancha!! This got the crowd excited, but Hennigan knew the time was now, so he rolled Carter in the ring with hopes to pin the deadweight, but only got a two count.
Don West: "What's John Hennigan got to do in order to put this man away?"
Kurt Angle: "Love him, or hate him, Ethan is undefeated. You have to give it more than this!"
Hennigan caught his breath before lining Ethan up and trying to hit The End of the World, but Ethan's knees lifted up! Hennigan made it clear of this ache now in his back, in which Ethan then gets up behind Hennigan still trying to shake off the effects of the knees to the back, which Ethan Carter III hits the One-Percenter! Carter rolls Hennigan over so opportunistically, but Hennigan gets the shoulder up!
Don West: "Oh my!"
Kurt Angle: "Did John just kick out of the One-Percenter!"
The incumbent champion pitched a massive fit, in great dismay that Hennigan kicked out. Carter then picked Hennigan up and slung him into the corner, before running and connecting double knees to the injured back. Hennigan winced in pain, but instead of falling down, he just turned over in the corner. Ethan took advantage by launching his body for the EC3 Splash, but Hennigan moved out of the way! And he schoolboys Ethan! One, two, thre!!!! Ethan barely managed his way out of it to stay in this match. Hennigan puts his head in his hands, and falls down on his back in exhaustion next to Ethan Carter III.
Don West: "So I guess we know why you retired, Kurt."
Kurt Angle: "I wouldn't be able to keep up. I would've been done by now... Incredible!"
Hennigan and Carter begin stirring, and while they're still on their knees, they begin to trade blows. They trade these blows up to their feet, and they pick up the pace with these punches. Hennigan then blocks one of Carter's, before shaking his head at Ethan, before going on the offensive and never looking back! Hennigan connected with several punches, before pushing Ethan away and hitting a leg lariat. Hennigan then pulled Carter in the corner, and then hit The End of the World!! Hennigan pumped his fist before hooking one leg with Ethan, but EC3 kicks out at the last moment! Hennigan refuses to let his anger get the best of him, as he picks Carter up and pulls him to the center of the ring. Hennigan then goes for the Moonlight Drive, a corkscrew neckbreaker, but EC3 reverses it and nails the One-Percenter! Carter uses the rest of his strength to roll Hennigan over and tiredly hooks the leg. And that was it!
Kurt Angle: "What a match!"
Don West: "EC3 is still your world champion after Bound For Glory!"
Kurt Angle: "Neither man should be disappointed after this. Immortal effort displayed by both men tonight."
Don West: "Look at Tyrus getting in the ring, picking the champion up."
Kurt Angle: "And look Don, Trump, Trump!"
As Tyrus had picked Ethan up after the match and handed him the title, TNA's Donald Trump had emerged from the back, applauding the match, as then Shawn Michaels comes out alongside of Trump, but nodding and lightly clapping. Ethan sees this and then tells everyone he told them so. Ethan is lifted up on Tyrus' bulky shoulder, and this is the image we're left with as Bound For Glory goes off the air.
