Michael Cole is stood in the center of the ring with a microphone. Fans lean with anticipation as he lifts his microphone
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the WWE Universe, On January 7th of this year, John Cena underwent surgery on a shoulder injury suspected to leave the Leader of the Cenation out of in-ring competition for around 6 months. Now Twitter has been buzzing all day and I can confirm that once again, John has healed remarkably fast much like he has in the past and is here tonight!"
This gets a huge mixed reaction from the fans in attence
"So please join me in welcoming, John Cena!"
Cole steps out of the ring as Cena's theme song sparks that extremely familiar mixed reaction. Boos and Cheers create a unique atmosphere and John steps out from behind the curtain. Much to the surprise of many, Cena is not in his usual Jorts and T-shirt combo. Instead, The Face that runs the place is kitted out in a tailor fitted suit. Many fans are in shock as Cena has never been seen in a ring dressed this way. Rather than his usual shtick at the top of the ramp by saluting and talking into the camera, he simply holds up his 5 digits on the right hand, covering his face as he grins a little. Cena walks down to the ring rather than running and climbs up the steps. This is all rather unorthodox from Cena, but still the only thing that isn't missing from his entrance is the massive 50/50 divide among the fans.
"I look around this arena tonight and I see one unanimous question. Why the suit? I'll get to that don't worry but right now, The face that runs the place is back and I've got to get the point"
Cena takes a few steps around the ring and pauses as "Let's go Cena/Cena Sucks" generates
"In 7 days, is Wrestlemania 32. 7 days ago, I thought I was going to be missing from that event. For the first time, I wasn't going to be present. From Wrestlemania XIX, to my first match at XX. But I'm fit. Doctors have cleared me and I will be in Houston. I will be at AT&T on April 2nd"
Predominately, Adult males can be heard booing, only slightly overshadowing the cries of joy from the younger audience. Cena continues
"Tonight you'll notice I'm dressed a little differently. But what can I say? I wasn't feeling Jorts tonight"
Another quick pause and Cena holds up two fingers
"Two sides. Every arena across this country and every time there is a divide of two sides. The first side are my loyalist fans. The fans who have been by my side all the way through. The 10 year old's who put my newest t-shirt on their gift list every year. Every female who has screamed their heart out. That group has given me strength and courage. They have been my core at times where I've been down and on a surgery bed. They have been my bedrock. I can't thank them enough for the enormous support"
This is well received and the boos and jeers are temporarily muted as that portion of the fan base basque in the moment, cheering and chanting for Cena
"Then there is the other side. You know who you are. 9/10 it's generally males between 18- upwards. You come in droves to add the 'Cena Sucks' to 'Let's go Cena' and I've got to give it you guys too, You are consistent. You've stuck with it and you've been entertaining. It's been 10 years since that backlash begun. It was Wrestlemania 22 in the Windy City. 10 years of divided crowds. Boy, it's been a roller coaster"
The usual chant drums up among the fans again and Cena waits it out before continuing
"Thank You. Thank you to the lovers, thank you to the haters. Thank you for everything you've given me through my 15 year career. It has been exceptional and I can't thank you all enough. I know that I'm a polarizing figure but seriously thank you to all those fans out there that come and spend their hard earned cash to come to WWE each and every week. You are the people that make this country the greatest country on earth! Thank you all so much!"
For a moment, Cena's pandering to the average American gets everyone onside, cheering and chanting "USA"
"Thank you... But now it's time I turned the tables a little bit. Now it's time I talk off script. Now it's time that the truth comes out
Suddenly, the room falls flat. There is a silence surrounding the arena as the evident change of tone in Cena's voice intrigues people to sit forward and listen closely
"Everyone here tonight and all around the world in the WWE Universe needs to understand something. My Net Worth stands at $35 million dollars, I'm 38 years old and at this point, I've done everything in this industry. Main Event Wrestlemania? Sure. World Championships? 15 of them. I did all that in a pair of Jorts and some colorful T-shirts. Not bad, right? It wasn't broken, I didn't fix it"
The fans are completely and utterly baffled by this point and the silence is even more telling
"Why am I telling you all this? What is my point? I've done everything so I had to ask myself, what have I got to gain? and no matter how many times I went over it, I came up with nothing. With nothing left to do, there is nothing left to gain. So then the question became what have I got to lose? believe me, this is where it gets good. I hope you're sat comfortably"
There is chatter among the fans, debating what the hell Cena is talking about but the general silence is so unusual especially given Cena's polarizing image
"I am sick to the back teeth of every little kid that wears my merchandise. I'm going to get this off my chest right now. I hate your kids. Ever wondered why I don't have any of my own? Because I hate them with every fiber of my being, but they've made me a very rich and wealthy man. It's suited me to be a role model for them for so long but there comes a time where you just can't do it any more and for me, that time is right now. I'm done with it. I'm done with Wrist bands, I'm done with colorful T-Shirts. I'm done with Make-a-wish because honestly, If I have to go to one more hospital and look 9 year old Johnny in the eye and tell him that I think he's the bravest young man I've met, I'm going to snap. I'll tell 9 year old Johnny that he's not an inspiration, that he's not brave. I'll tell him the truth. Cancer is breaking him apart and after suffering, his cold and miserable death his parents are going to eventually divorce because Mommy and Daddy can't handle it anymore"
Mothers and children are absolutely shocked. Jaws around the arena on the floor as Cena is visably worked up. Some children are a little upset and some of the mother's are furious. Meanwhile, the usual Cena haters are loving it, lapping up every moment cheering and chanting for Cena
"Oh here we go. That's right. Now I'm cool, you guys want to cheer right? Wrong. I'm putting this out there. To every man that has booed me for the last ten years that is now sitting there jizzing yourselves because I've 'turned heel' You are the biggest fools of all. Why? Because you've complained how boring I am, You've slandered me, you've demonized me and alienated me, moaned about my position for years, all the while you've paid your emission fee and have ensured that I retire with my feet up comfortable in Costa Rica. Thanks, your hatred of me worked out well for me. How has it worked out for you?"
This is insanity. There is a variety of reactions towards Cena. More than ever, his polarizing status has sky rocketed.
"I'm laying this down real simple. Hustle, Loyalty, Respect? Bullshit"
Cena laughs to himself
"I'm a millionaire. I've got a girlfriend who is hot as hell than I bone every night in my mansion. I'm a 15 time World Champion. M name is a house hold name. I've got my foot in the door with Hollywood. Things are great for me. But I'm sick of being John Cena 'Leader of the Cenation' but that doesn't mean I'm now reverting back to John Cena 'The Doctor of Thuganomics' with throwbacks and steel chains. I'm not going to be John Cena 'The Edgy, Cool Heel' ...No, I'm just going to be me, John Cena, the pretentious, stuck up, arrogant asshole that has fortune, fame, success and is going to rub it in the snobby faces of the brats that made me that way"
Cena flips the bird to the cameraman in the ring
"Fuck you WWE Universe. Thanks for making me rich. Jokes on you!"
Cena then steps back and points to the Wrestlemania sign
"So now I've got that huge monkey off my back, let me be the first to announce my intentions. Wrestlemania is the biggest payday of the annual year and if anyone in the back wants to get in my way of that big pay day because they don't like my attitude. Be my guest"
He begins to mock how he would initiate his U.S Open Challenge
"So the who wants to be the jobber that goes under Super Cena at Wrestlemania challenge begins right.....now"
Cena drops his microphone and the fans explode with another mixture of reactions. He looks all around the arena with an angry smirk on his face before heading to the top of the ramp. Cena gets to the center of the ramp and reaches deep into his blazer pocket, pulling out one of his wristbands. He holds it up for the crowd and camera to see before dropping it to the ground, spitting on it and stamping on it. The cameraman comes close to John as he backs up towards Gorilla position shouting 'He's dead. John Cena is dead'
