Season 1 (Colorado Avalanche)
In his first NHL season, James Thompson didn't play as much as originally anticipated but he did score 12 goals and get 20 assists. The Avalanche finished the season in 10th place and missed the playoffs.

James Thompson played the majority of the games in his second season and ended with 27 goals and 44 assists. The Avalanche finished in 8th place and were swept in the first round with Thompson scoring 1 goal and notching 2 assists.

James Thompson played every game in his third season and scored 28 goals and got 50 assists. The Colorado Avalanche finished in 9th place, just shy of the playoffs.
