The Philadelphia 76ers are a franchise with a rich history featuring some of the greatest players of all-time including Julius 'Dr. J' Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, Charles Barkley and 'The Answer' Allen Iverson. Despite the multiple hall of famers the 76ers have had, they have only won three championships in their long history. What's even worse is how poorly anaged the team has been within the last few years. Ownership has lost their patience and have decided to fire Sam Hinkie and bring in a new GM to bring Philly back into the playoffs and hopefully bring an NBA Championship back to the city of brotherly love. With the #1 pick in the 2016 Draft, Ben Simmons, and a few valuable assets and draft picks, the 76ers look poised to make some big moves.

Rumor Mill- With the obvious logjam at the Center position with Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel, the 76ers are actively trying to trade at the very least one of the big men for a new starting point guard or shooting guard. Jahlil Okafor is considered to be the most valuable of the three as he's considered to be better than Nerlens Noel and we've never seen Joel Embiid play an NBA game due to injuries since he was drafted in 2014.
- The 76ers have expressed interest in several unsigned free agents including Lance Stephenson, Ryan Kelly, Jordan Farmar, Cleanthony Early and Mario Chalmers.
- With new management, the 76ers are keeping a close eye on Head Coach Brett Brown. He's been the Head Coach since 2013 throughout some of Philadelphia's worst seasons. He hasn't been given much to work with but the culture in the locker-room is rumored to be an absolute disaster with a lack of veteran leaders and Brett Brown not being able to command the respect of his players. Brown's contract is up at the end of the year but if Philadelphia doesn't show much improvement then it's likely that he'll be gone before the season is over.

As the season comes even closer and training camps begin, the Philadelphia 76ers have managed to execute a trade for their point guard of the future. The Philadelphia 76ers have traded 3rd year big man Nerlens Noel and the Lakers Top 3 Protected 2017 Draft Pick for the 5th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, point guard Kris Dunn.
