TURNING POINT November 2018
Turning Point would see the return of the one and only; The Greatest Man That Ever Lived; Austin Aries. Aries would make his comeback on the Impact Wrestling following Bound for Glory - taking out Eli Drake after he was forced to defend the Championship against Johnny Impact. Earlier in the evening, Chris Adonis would be attacked backstage, and upon Austin Aries revealing himself, he would connect a big Brain-Buster on Eli Drake. Jim Cornette would then make it official, naming Austin Aries the next #1 Contender for the Impact Global Championship.
However, Turning Point would kick off with the continuation of the AAA and Impact Partnership - this time, as it would come to an end. Six Men; Texano, Pagano and El Hijo del Fantasma, who would represent AAA would collide with Impact's very own; Grand Champion, Ethan Carter III, James Storm and Eddie Edwards. This time however, a contract would be suspended above the ring - with the stipulation that if a member from Team AAA can retrieve it, the partnership would continue and the three Impact stars would be suspended. If a member from Team Impact retrieve it - the partnership with AAA would be over. All Six Men would collide in the ring, with ladders coming into play but in the end, it would be Eddie Edwards who would retrieve the contract for his team, sending Team AAA packing. The fans, along with the Impact lockeroom were thrilled, all except for one man ... James Storm. During the celebration, James Storm would turn from getting his arm raised with his partners, instead drilling Eddie Edwards with a Last Call Superkick. The fans would stand shocked, as the one man who fought the most for AAA to leave his company, would turn the tides, leaving Ethan Carter III questioning James Storm. The Cowboy would exit the ring, leaving EC3 to check on his partner - in a flip of what we're used to seeing.
Team Impact .defeated. Team AAA in a Ladder Match; The AAA Partnership Is Over.
Next, we would go into the Tag Team Championship picture; where over the past few weeks, oVe had been looking to win those Impact Tag Team Championships back from LAX. However, during a Championship Match on Impact, The Monster - Abyss would come to the ring, attacking not only LAX, but also oVe, causing the match to be thrown out. Jim Cornette would question The Monster, as he was back to his normal ways and not his Decay persona. Abyss stated that he wanted gold, and he found himself a new Tag Team Partner. Cornette would give Abyss what he wanted, leading to a Triple Threat Tag Team Match at Turning Point for the Tag Team Championships. LAX would be forced to defend against oVe and Abyss, along with a partner of his choice. oVe would try and get the best of Abyss in the coming weeks, while LAX lurked in the shadows, watching the two challengers destroy each other, all the while Konnan trying to convince Low Ki to stay with LAX and Impact Wrestling, but that's another story. Finally, Turning Point would come along and Santana and Ortiz would defend their gold against oVe and the team of Abyss and ... Grado? Although surely a weird pairing, the team worked efficiently, not only placing Ortiz of LAX through a table on the outside ... But also, Abyss would his Jake Crist with a Black Hole Slam, allowing Grado to give off the top with an elbow for the three count. Grado and Abyss would become NEW Tag Team Champions, leaving the crowd stunned.
Abyss & Grado .defeated. LAX (c) & oVe in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match to become NEW Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.
Speaking of LAX, Low Ki and Konnan would have their issues - as Low Ki felt that the only thing LAX was focused on was the Impact Tag Team Championships. Low Ki would have an opportunity to challenge Matt Sydal for the Impact X-Division Championship, if he could knock off Trevor Lee on an episode of Impact. However, during the match, oVe would make their presence known, costing Low Ki the match. This would send Low Ki into a rage, declaring that he was not only leaving LAX, but also Impact Wrestling. Konnan tried to explain to Low Ki that you don't leave LAX, only LAX has the power to take you out. Eventually, this would lead to LAX taking Low Ki out in the middle of the ring, but Konnan had a trick up his sleeve. Konnan would make an agreement with Jim Cornette, setting up a match at Turning Point where Low Ki would face Homicide, with the stipulation that if Low Ki won, he could leave as he pleased, but if Low Ki lost - he would remain in the company, playing as a slave to LAX. Low Ki would take the challenge, taking a fight to Homicide, but during the match at Turning Point, it seemed that Konnan and Diamante would get involved - almost costing Low Ki the match. Just in time however, Low Ki would turn things back around, catching Homicide with a Warrior's Way to capture the win. Low Ki was headed out of the door, but this was not the last we'd see of him.
Low Ki .defeated. Homicide w/ LAX to allow himself freedom of LAX and Impact Wrestling.
We would then turn to the Impact Knockout's Championship picture, where Taryn Terrell, who won the Championship at Bound for Glory would look to defend her belt against the former Champion, Sienna with KM in her corner. On the lead up to the event, both Allie and Gail Kim would try to once again get involved in the match, even having a Tag Team Qualifier against Sienna and Terrell where if they won, they would be added to the match. Sienna and Terrell were able to fend them off, keeping things one on one but Taya Valkyrie, who defeated Rosemary at Bound for Glory would make it known that she was next in line. Karen Jarrett instead would grant Sienna her Singles rematch for Turning Point in a Lumberjill Match with the winner defending her Championship next against Taya Valkyrie. The Lumberjills would get involved, causing a massive brawl to ensue but in the end, Taryn Terrell would roll up Sienna, bridging over her to score a three count. Following the match, KM would help Sienna to the back but Taya Valkyrie would make her presence known, hitting Terrell with a Valhalla, raising the Impact Knockout's Championship high in the air.
Taryn Terrell (c) .defeated. Sienna w/ KM to retain the Impact Knockout's Championship.
This would bring us to Johnny Impact. After losing three times to Eli Drake, Jim Cornette would sit him down, telling him that he brought him into Impact to make changes and Johnny needed to start getting his shit together. Impact agreed, asking Jim Cornette to give him rightful men to back behind him. On an edition of Impact Wrestling, Johnny Impact would be set to take on Petey Williams in what was supposed to be a phenomenal match, but two men in mask would hit the ring, attacking Petey Williams. The next few weeks, things would continue with the two masked men aiding Johnny Impact as he faced Garza Jr and Sonjay Dutt. Finally, Johnny Impact would call these three men into the ring - stating that he had no idea who these men were nor why they were helping him. The two masked men would make their presence known, looking to attack but Johnny Impact would attack Sonjay Dutt from behind, giving the masked men time to enter the ring. One by one, the three men would work together to take on Dutt, Jr and Williams as the two men would unmask revealing PJ Black and Jack Evans - Johnny Impact would announce that Worldwide Impact had arrived in Impact Wrestling. This would lead to a Six Man Tag Team Match for Turning Point where Johnny Impact, PJ Black and Jack Evans taking on Garza Jr, Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt, as the three looked to get revenge. At Turning Point, Garza, Dutt and Williams would surely get their revenge but in the end it was Worldwide Impact that would have chemistry on their side, using a fury of kicks on Garza Jr, allowing Johnny Impact to hit a Starship Pain on him for the three count.
Worldwide Impact .defeated. Garza Jr, Sonjay Dutt & Petey Williams in a Six Man Tag Team Match.
Our sixth match of the night would come in the form of a Six Sides of Steel, where Moose and Lashley would be locked in and put to war. At Bound for Glory, Moose and Stephan Bonnar would defeat Lashley and King Mo in a Six Sides of Steel Tag Team Match. However, over the coming weeks Lashley would get his revenge on Moose, even challenging him to a Submission Match. Moose would accept it and the fight would begin but in the end, Lashley's team would get involved all attacking Moose. Finally, Jim Cornette would have enough - announcing that at Turning Point Moose and Lashley would collide in a SINGLES Six Sides of Steel Match, something that should have been done in the first place. Lashley would announce that this would be his final match in Impact Wrestling before leaving the company with his large severance package. This would bring Moose to challenge Lashley to up the odds - declaring that if he could beat Lashley, he would leave the company with nothing. Lashley would agree to the terms, but only if Moose put something up as well ... His career. Moose agreed, announcing that he would retire if Lashley could beat him one on one. To sweeten the deal, Jim Cornette announced that if any of Lashley's stooges got involved, he would also lose his severance package. The two big men would be locked in the cage and would collide in an all our war. During the match however, Laredo Kid would emerge from the back, running a steel pipe into the ring, sliding it to Lashley. Lashley would attempt to swing on Moose but Moose would dodge the swing and instead connect a big boot on Lashley, calling the end with a massive Powerbomb and a cover for the win. Lashley would leave Impact Wrestling with nothing, but before leaving it was revealed that Lashley's Team had paid off Laredo Kid to bring him the pipe, but after the failure - Lashley would attack Laredo Kid backstage leaving one final statement before exiting the company.
Moose .defeated. Lashley in a Six Sides of Steel Match; Lashley exits Impact Wrestling with No Severance Package.
Moving on to the Impact X-Division Championship Picture, Matt Sydal who won the Championship at Bound for Glory would defend his new belt against the former champ, Trevor Lee. With The Dynasty in his corner, Trevor Lee would look to cash in his rematch the following week on Impact but LAX would get involved, leading to Trevor Lee and Low Ki facing off to see who would face Sydal at Turning Point. However after oVe made their presence known, Trevor Lee would roll Low Ki up, scoring another rematch. Over the next few weeks, Sydal would collide with Andrew Everett and Caleb Konley of The Dynasty, both in a winning fashion but it was Trevor Lee who would get the last laugh, hitting Sydal with the X-Division Championship just days away from their match. At Turning Point Trevor Lee would have Sydal's number for most of the match but Matt Sydal would come back, looking to end it all with a Shooting Star Press. Trevor Lee would just move out of the way, looking to reclaim the gold as he hollered for the Impact X-Division Championship. Caleb Konley would slide the belt into the ring but as Trevor Lee went to reach for it - Andrew Everett would slide into the ring, grabbing the belt - fighting Trevor Lee for it. This would give Sydal time to get back to his feet, catching Trevor Lee with a big knee and a Shooting Star Press to reclaim the Impact X-Division Championship. Following the match, Caleb Konley would attempt to attack Andrew Everett, but Everett would plea to hear him out. Caleb would listen to Andrew before shaking his head, helping Trevor Lee to his feet as Andrew Everett left the ring and The Dynasty.
Matt Sydal (c) .defeated. Trevor Lee w/ The Dynasty to retain the X-Division Championship.
In the Main Event, Austin Aries would return to in-ring action, facing Eli Drake for the Impact Global Championship. Aries made his return the Impact after Bound for Glory, hitting Eli Drake with a massive Brain-Buster following a big title defense against Johnny Impact once again. The following week, Chris Adonis and Eli Drake would shoot on Aries, challenging him to a match tonight but Aries made it clear that he wouldn't return to the ring until Turning Point. However, after Austin Aries and Eli Drake came face to face to sign the contract in the ring - Chris Adonis would attack Austin Aries forcing him to pass out to an Adonis Lock. Eli Drake and Chris Adonis would stand tall over Austin Aries going into Turning Point. However, once Austin Aries laced up the boots, he was a skill set ahead of Eli Drake for most of the match. However, in the end - Austin Aries would soar out of the ring looking to take out Eli Drake but Chris Adonis would step in, taking the splash - allowing Eli Drake to get back into the ring, as the referee counted to ten. Austin Aries would have himself counted out as Eli Drake celebrated but Jim Cornette would demand for the match to restart. This would bring Aries into the ring but as the referee would call for the bell, Eli Drake would kick Austin Aries with a swift kick to the nads, lifting him up for a Gravy Train! The fans would boo harshly as Eli Drake covered Austin Aries, getting a three count and celebrating with his Impact Global Championship. AND THAT ... IS JUST A FACT OF LIFE DUMMIES!
Eli Drake (c) w/ Chris Adonis .defeated. Austin Aries to retain the Impact Global Championship.
