It's a new day for Queens Park Rangers. After facing relegation a couple of seasons back, they are now back in the premier league under new management. The era of Harry Redknapp is over and instead, Vincent Kennedy McMahon has taken over as manager, looking to test himself in the beautiful game.

QPR have completed the signing of Joel Campbell from Arsenal on a season long loan. Joel is a highly sought after player after an incredibly impressive World Cup display with Costa Rica. He becomes QPR's second signing of the season, and the second signing from the Gunners.

QPR 1-0 Palermo Goals: Austin (PEN) Missed Penalty: Bobby Zamora
QPR left it late to pick up their first pre-season win. They won a penalty 25 minutes into the game only for Bobby Zamora to find his shot saved from 12 yards. However, substitute Charlie Austin wouldn't make the same mistake when QPR won a second penalty, and he tucked it away for the victory.

QPR 3-2 Hull City '39 Rafinha (QPR) '44 Hernandez (Hull) '52 Jelavic (Hull) '64 Austin (QPR) '89 Taarabt (QPR)
MAN OF THE MATCH: Joel Campbell
A thrilling start to the season at Loftus Road saw QPR come out victors with seconds to spare. Rafinha gave the side the lead with a neatly taken header from a corner by Joel Campbell. However, minutes later Abel Hernandez' fine volley brought the visitors level. Hull had an excellent start to the second half when Jelavic latched onto a header, giving Hull a 2-1 lead. Eduardo Vargas picked up the ball near the half way line and after a fine run, he placed the ball back to Charlie Austin on the edge of the box who smashed home to make it 2-2. McMahon brought on changes to try and win the game, but it was the forgotten man who saved the day. Joel Campbell cut inside and laid the ball out to Adel Taarabt who hammered it home for a late victory. Moments later, midfielder Leroy Fer tore his hamstring and is expected to be out for at least three months. 3 points, excellent start to the season.
