It was leaked from a house show match with Kane that Seth Rollins tweaked his knee. Apparently, the injury is worse than originally thought.
The WWE has officially stripped Seth Rollins of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship due to this injury, the title he's held since cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31.
Seth Rollins was scheduled to defend the championship against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series on November 22nd.

Dude, injury is fucking major. Torn right ACL, MCL and medical meniscus. I don't think he'll be returning in the time frame they have him at. Hope Rollins has a speedy recovery, he's been one of the best things going recently.

I'm sure you had the same thoughts as I did when you heard the time frame of 6-9 months. If it was like me, I thought "Football players are out nine months to a year with just an ACL tear. How can Rollins come back from an ACL tear, a MCL tear, AND a meniscus tear in 6-9 months?!"So yeah, he'll definitely be out through WrestleMania time. I think the earliest we see Rollins back is in time for SummerSlam or Night of Champions (I think NOC is the event after SummerSlam)... And quite frankly, wouldn't be surprised if it takes him until Survivor Series. But I agree with you, he's been the one guy to draw heat AND he backs it up in the ring. He's entertaining and I've loved to watch him grow in just a little over a year. It's been around 18 months, really, since The Shield split and he went to do his own thing. Pray the best for Rollins! Sometimes these things can be a blessing in disguise, and I can speak of that from experience.

Oh shit that's crazy. I'm not really watching wrestling anymore but I caught a little bit of it this past Monday. I guess Reigns is going to be winning it.

I wouldn't rule it out, but I honestly think this is when WWE decides to have Sheamus cash in. He might just be the most ready for the world title in WWE's eyes.

At least then he'll be as healthy as he can be, plus he can make a surprise return (as a face) and win the Rumble, then win at Mania against whoever the Authority's new champion is.

So now we just got a sneak peek into Jon's booker... But nah, you'll need him back ASAP. Unless something drastically changes, there's no depth up at the world title picture, and we'll get a lot of John Cena and Randy Orton, when they both come back in the near future. I don't see them saying "Rollins, we're holding you out a few more months. In the meantime, you want the newest Marine role?" ... Seth is vital to the WWE and I can't imagine them holding him out 3-4 extra months. Once he's healthy, I expect an immediate return.

I feel like they wouldn't have too much of a problem holding him out an extra couple of months because they'll have gone so long without him already, they'd have found a way to get there.
