Transfer News
It has been reported that Center Jahlil Okafor is taking his talents from Philadelphia to Prince Edward Island, Canada as he has agreed to join the Island Storm.
Power Forward Kristaps Porzingas will be heading from New York to London, Ontario as he will be joining the London Lightning.
Point Guard D'Angelo Russell remain on the West Coast as he will be joining brand new Head Coach Steve Nash in Vancouver as he will be joining the Vancouver Rain.
While not an NBA rookie, Power Forward Julius Randle will be making the move to the NBL as he will be joining the Halifax Hurricanes.

July 2016 - East Division
The opening month of NBL Canada was a rather competitive one in the East Division as all teams were extremely competitive throughout the first 15 games of the season.
The Halifax Hurricanes were one of the most dominant teams throughout the month as they finished the month with a 9-6 record. Their biggest win came over the Quebec Kebs which was 101-69. Halifax's Player of the Month was Julius Randle.
The Quebec Kebs fortunes were not very great in the first month of the season as they finished it with a 5-10 record. Their biggest win came over the Montreal Jazz which was 76-65. Quebec's Player of the Month was Isaiah Cousins.
The Island Storm fell short of expectations when Jahlil Okafor went down early on with an ankle injury and missed the entire month and the team finished with an 8-7 record. Their biggest win came over the Alberta Oilers which was 95-81. Island's Player of the Month was Juwan Morgan.
The Montreal Jazz showed promise throughout the month and ended it with an 8-7 record. Their biggest win came over the Quebec Kebs which was 97-77. Montreal's Player of the Month was Theon Reefer.

July 2016 - West Division
There was one clear winning of the West Division in the month of July, let's take a look.
The London Lightning, with arguably one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time had a strong showing and finished the month with a 9-6 record after 15. The Player of the Month for the team was Kristaps Porzingas.
The Windsor Express had a less than desirable July as they finished the month with a 6-9 record. The Player of the Month for the team was Nate Britt.
The Vancouver Rain absolutely torched the competition in the West Division in July and finished the month with an 11-4 record. Their Player of the Month was D'Angelo Russell.
The Alberta Oilers struggled mightily to not only win games but attract fans and they finished the month with an abysmal 3-12 record. Their Player of the Month was Tim Delaney.

August 2016 - East Division
The second month of NBL Canada's rookie season was just as, if not more competitive than last month in the East Division.
The Halifax Hurricanes continued their overall dominance of the East Division by finishing the month with a 10-5 record thus bringing their total record to 19-11. Their Player of the Month was once again Julius Randle.
The Island Storm struggled near the beginning of the month but as soon as Jahlil Okafor returned, they were off to the races winning 6 in a row to finish the month with a 9-6 record to bring their total record to 17-13. Their Player of the Month was Thomas Bryant.
The Montreal Jazz once again had a solid showing by finishing the month with another 8-7 record thus bringing their total record to 16-14. Their Player of the Month was Brian Rouse.
The Quebec Kebs have all but fallen out of playoff contention with an abysmal 4-11 record for the month thus bringing their total record to 9-21. Their Player of the Month was CJ Cole.

August 2016 - West Division
One team above all the rest once again in August.
The Vancouver Rain unsurprisingly continue to dominate the West Division in August finishing the month with a record of 11-4 once again bringing their total record to 22-8. Their Player of the Month was once again D'Angelo Russell.
The London Lightning struggled mightily after being plagued by injuries to star players Kristaps Porzingas and Myles Davis who will both miss until the end of September. The team finished with a 7-8 record thus bringing their total record to 16-14. Their Player of the Month was Kaiser Gates.
The Windsor Express played their hearts out in August and showed that they have the fighting spirit as they finished the month with a 9-6 record to bring their total record to 15-15. Their player of the month was Justin Coleman.
The Alberta Oilers continued to struggle finishing the month with a 2-13 record bringing their total record to 5-25, officially eliminating them from playoff contention. Their Player of the Month was Kris Jenkins.

Johnson out as Oilers Head Coach, Self steps in to try to stop the sinking ship
ALBERTA - In has been confirmed that Alberta Oilers' Head Coach Avery Johnson has been fired from the team following a 5-25 start. Bill Self is set to step into the role for the remainder of the season and has promised to make some deals prior to the trade deadline.

Trade Deadline News
The trade deadline came and went without a whole lot of trading going on but there were a few deals that were made.
The Alberta Oilers agreed to send G Josh Hart to Vancouver for G Tyler Self. Tyler is Head Coach Bill Self's son.
The London Lightning agreed to send G Remy Abell to Montreal for G Ryan Augustine.

September 2016 - East Division
The final month of the regular season for the East Division saw two teams rise up and show why they are contenders for the inaugural NBL Canada Championship.
The Halifax Hurricanes continued to show the East Division what they are made of when they finished the month with a 9-6 record thus bringing their final record to 28-17 securing themselves a playoff spot. Their Player of the Month was Julius Randle.
The Island Storm pulled ahead of the other competitors with a 10-5 record in the month of September to bring their final record to 27-18 to secure themselves a playoff spot. Their Player of the Month was Jahlil Okafor.
The Montreal Jazz fell out of a playoff spot after finishing the month with a 7-8 record thus bringing their final record to 23-22. Their Player of the Month was once again Brian Rouse.
The Quebec Kebs finished out their less than stellar first season with 6-9 record in the month of September to bring their final record to 15-30. Their Player of the Month was Isaiah Cousins.
