Each episode typically follows Carter, officials in the U.S. government, and the conspirators behind the events of the day, often simultaneously. The episodes take place over the course of one hour, depicting events as they happen, in real time.

Season 1 Episodes
1 - 11:00am - 12:00pm - July 20, 2016 Eric Carter returns home from active duty in Iraq. President Kevin Lyne prepares to deliver a speech regarding the escalating situation in Iraq. Agent Peter Nolasco receives word of a threat against President Lyne's life and enlists CTU. Mark Monroe speaks with someone on the phone regarding President Lyne.
2 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm - July 20, 2016 Mark Monroe is revealed to be speaking with Vice President Trevor Abrams on the phone. Agent Peter Nolasco contacts former friend Eric Carter who used to be a part of a private security company with him. Kate Morgan meets with Rebecca Ingram about her husband. Grant Kim discovers the plot against President Lyne.
3 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm - July 27, 2016 President Lyne holds a televised speech from the White House. Mark Monroe takes a drone pilot hostage. Eric Carter and Peter Nolasco meet privately. Grant Kim demands Kate Morgan return to CTU and not associate herself with Rebecca Ingram. Eric and Rebecca meet as Eric reveals details of the plot to Rebecca.
4 - 2:00pm - 3:00pm - August 4, 2016 A drone strike hits the White House during President Lyne's speech but Agent Nolasco manages to get the President to safety. Eric Carter and Rebecca Ingram decide that they must help and they head off to the White House. Grant Kim and the CTU are livid that this was able to happen. Vice President Abrams speaks with Mark Monroe and demands that he make sure President Lyne is dead by the end of the day.
5 - 3:00pm - 4:00pm - August 11, 2016 Eric Carter finds key evidence when he overhears Vice President Abrams' conversation but Verica is whisked away by Secret Service before he can confront him. Grant Kim demands that Kate Morgan stop Rebecca Ingram from interfering in this investigation. President Lyne is in the PEOC and wants to know where the Joint Chiefs are and blames this on Islamic terrorism.
6 - 4:00pm - 5:00pm - August 17, 2016 Eric Carter and Rebecca Ingram try to trace the call that Vice President Abrams made. Grant Kim forces all other agents to change course to find Rebecca Ingram despite the fact that President Lyne's life is still in danger. President Lyne is still in the PEOC and claims that he must make a statement from the White House lawn so that the American people know he is okay, Agent Nolasco advises against it.
7 - 5:00pm - 6:00pm - August 24, 2016 Mark Monroe is set up in a building across from the White House with a sniper rifle. Eric Carter and Rebecca Ingram are in the parking garage of a building a few blocks away and they believe that they have triangulated the signal and set out to find who was behind the phonecall. Firefighters finally extinguish the burning White House.
8 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm - August 31, 2016 President Lyne is adamant about making his speech where America can see that he is alive and well, Agent Nolasco refuses to allow it. Mark Monroe telephones Vice President Abrams once again and the two discuss getting President Lyne out of the PEOC. Eric Carter and Rebecca Ingram arrive at Mark Monroe's hiding area, guns drawn.
9 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm - September 7, 2016 Rebecca Ingram is shot down by...Grant Kim who left CTU HQ and Eric Carter is forced to flee from his efforts to find Mark Monroe. Grant reminds Rebecca that she is no longer head of CTU and needs to stop pretending to be, he leaves her for dead. President Lyne leaves the PEOC against the wishes of the Secret Service and surveys the damage of the drone strike, he is in absolute awe.
10 - 8:00pm - 9:00pm - September 14, 2016 Eric Carter gets a hold of Agent Nolasco and tells him about Vice President Abrams. Mark Monroe focuses on President Lyne through a broken window in the White House atrium. Vice President Abrams is at his lodge drinking scotch and watching the coverage of events with a satisfied smirk on his face. Rebecca Ingram is found by Kate Morgan and is rushed to the hospital.
11 - 9:00pm - 10:00pm - September 21, 2016 Mark Monroe presses the trigger on his snipe rifle but Agent Nolasco steps in the way just at the right time, which unbeknownst to him, saved the President's life but he is hit in the jugular and drops. Secret Service rushes President Lyne away as Eric Carter tries and fails to save his friend. Mark Monroe is pissed about not being able to kill the President and turns to leave but has a gun pointed to his head by...Kate Morgan. Vice President Abrams is in his lodge when police storm it to arrest him.
12 - 10:00pm - 11:00am - September 21, 2016 Mark Monroe is arrested by Kate Morgan. Rebecca Ingram is recovering in the hospital as Eric Carter mourns the loss of his friend. President Lyne confronts Vice President Abrams over his betrayal and promises that he will be going to jail for a very long time. Grant Kim meets Rebecca Ingram in the hospital and tells her that she will pay for the things she has done. 12 hours later, President Lyne awards Eric Carter and Kate Morgan both a medal of bravery and promises that a new Vice President will be selected the the United States will recover from these treasonous acts.
