2008 Presidential primariesDemocratic Party: Incumbent President Joe Biden was easily named the Democratic nominee for President. However, he did not choose John Edwards as his running mate but rather Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.
Republican Party: The Republican primary was an absolute shit show as it looked like none of the candidates stood a chance of election. This is why Mitt Romney withdrew after winning the Iowa caucus and claimed he would win in 2012.
Sarah Palin was seen as extremely idiotic and many said she stood no chance at becoming President and she soon withdrew from the race, endorsing Rudy Giuliani.
Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani both insulted each other numerous times and eventually, after an outburst during a debate, Mike Huckabee refused.
At the Republican National Convention, Rudy Giuliani was selected as the Republican nominee for President. He selected former Reform Party candidate Donald Trump as his running mate. Wow Barack being VP to Biden's P. Role reversals are always cool. Hopefully Barack ends up president eventually. AND RUDY GIULIANI IS THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE!?!? Ugh that's disturbing. And he chose Trump as his running mate... just greaaaat. Really enjoying this cool little series you got going on here.

Arnold wasn't born here. Doesn't that make him ineligible to run for president?

2012 Presidential election, the primaries
Democratic Party: Barack Obama and John Edwards are the clear front-runners as the race begins and Tom Vilsack drops out early on and endorses Obama.
Martin O'Malley had extremely poor polling numbers and withdrew following the New Hampshire primary and shockingly endorsed Elizabeth Warren.
John Edwards made the decision to shockingly withdraw from the race and endorse Elizabeth Warren who was slowly gaining in the polls.
The Bernie Sanders revolution was seemingly full steam ahead but was put to a stop when Sanders suffered a mild heart attack which led to him withdrawing from the race and endorsing Elizabeth Warren.
At the Democratic National Convention, it was Barack Obama who was named the nominee and he surprisingly selected Martin O'Malley as his running mate, something which pundits called idiotic as Elizabeth Warren would have guaranteed him victory.
Republican Party: The clusterfuck of a Republican race got off to a wild start with insults being traded left and right. Robert J. Bentley, Herman Cain and Jeb Bush dropped out of the race shortly after it began but chose not to endorse any candidate.
Jan Brewer was named the wicked witch of the Republicans throughout the campaign but had steady polling numbers until dropping out following Super Tuesday and endorsing Mitt Romney.
Gary Johnson made many gaffes during the campaign even in his endorsement following his withdrawal as he endorsed "Mitt Ryan" (Mitt Romney).
John Kasich ran a clean campaign and promised to bring prestige and honesty back to the White House but his low poll numbers forced him to withdraw, he endorsed Paul Ryan.
Newt Gingrich refused to drop out of the race as did Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney and all fought tooth and nail to the convention.
At the Republican National Convention, Paul Ryan was named the nominee and he selected John Kasich as his running mate.
