WWE: What a Time to be Alive

WrestleMania is always seen as the greatest spectacle of all and the marquee event of World Wrestling Entertainment but what happens when the show ends with the crowd of over 100 thousand booing your decision to put one man on top of the company? If you're Vince McMahon, you would typically ignore them but not this time. Vince knew that if he didn't do something soon, his pride and joy would not be around much longer so he decided to hire a new Head Creative Writer named Steven Kearn. He promised that he would try his damnedest to right the sinking ship before it's too late. Kearn's product begins the night after WrestleMania.

The show begins with WWE Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon strutting his way down the ramp to a mixed reaction from the crowd. He climbs in and soaks in the reaction that he is receiving. He has a huge smirk on his face and he has a microphone in hand. He talks about how last night at WrestleMania, The Undertaker managed to get the job done and defeat his son, Shane, inside the Hell in a Cell. He says that this just proves that Shane is not at all capable of running Monday Night Raw and that his son-in-law Triple H was also the loser of his match last night proving that is also incapable of running Raw. He continues on by saying that while his daughter Stephanie was not in a match last night, she has proved time and time again to be incompetent when it comes to running the WWE. He says that it is a travesty that none of the McMahon children are capable of being in charge of this company and that he has no idea what is going to happen when he is unable to run the company any longer. Suddenly, a strange theme song begins playing over the PA system before the crowd roars as LINDA MCMAHON makes her return to the WWE and walks down the ramp as Vince looks shocked. She climbs into the ring and is handed a microphone. She cuts a promo about the long storied history of the WWE and she says that the McMahon family has been a name that has been synonymous with the wrestling industry for years. She says that while her political career has failed, she is ready to return to the wrestling industry and has unsurped Vince to become the Chairwoman of the Board. She tells Vince that he can go home because she is in charge now! The crowd roars their approval as Vince looks pissed.

Baron Corbin defeated Kane via pinfall
Not the best match by any means but it served a purpose and saw Corbin showcase himself and win after the End of Days.

Kevin Owens is in the back and is interviewed and he says that last night that little punk Zack Ryder got lucky when he won the Ladder Match and that tonight he is going to regain the championship that is rightfully his! Suddenly, Sami Zayn enters the shot and the crowd goes wild as Zayn tells Owens that he wants a shot and Owens says that he doesn't deserve one but Linda McMahon enters the shot and inserts Zayn into the match thus making it a triple threat match!

The Dudley Boyz defeated The Usos in a Tables Match
A fantastic tag team bout between two experienced teams that say Bubba Ray and D-Von put Jimmy threw a table with the 3-D.

After the match, Bubba Ray demands a microphone and cuts a promo on The New Day stating that they are a disgrace to the WWE Tag Team Championships and that they want a fair shot at them at Payback! They wait for The New Day but...."SAWFT Is a Sin" hits and the crowd roars to life as Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady and Carmella walk out onto the ramp and cut their typical promo ending with "Badabing, badaboom, realest guys in da room!" and the crowd roars their approval. The Dudley Boyz challenge Amore and Cassady to a match for next week on Raw and they accept!

Lana and Naomi defeated Alicia Fox and Eva Marie via pinfall
A match that seemed like a backwards step in the women's revolution saw Eva Marie get pinned after Naomi hit her with the Rear View.

After a brief commercial break, Lita and Trish Stratus come to the ring, each to a gigantic ovation from the capacity crowd. They talk about how the women's division has grown leaps and bounds in the past few years and that they are proud to introduce, the WWE Women's Champion...CHARLOTTE! Charlotte comes out to massive heat from the crowd and Ric Flair is in toe. She grabs the championship belt from Lita and Trish and cuts a promo about how she is the greatest woman to ever step foot into a WWE ring, which of course, Lita and Trish are offended by. Charlotte continues by saying that there is no one woman that can match her talent inside this ring. Suddenly..."Turn It Up" hits and the crowd absolutely explodes in chants as BAYLEY WALKS OUT ONTO THE STAGE!! The crowd is chanting "BAYLEY! BAYLEY! BAYLEY!" as well as "NXT! NXT! NXT!" as Bayley races to the ring and begins brawling with Charlotte. Charlotte manages to escape the ring but Lita and Trish toss her back in and Bayley nails the Bayley-to-Belly Suplex before grabbing the WWE Women's title and raises it high in the air as the crowd roars their approval.

Kevin Owens defeated Zack Ryder (c) and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship
A fantastic bout between three great wrestlers saw all three men have the opportunity to win the match but Owens sent Zayn flying to the outside before planting Ryder with the pop-up powerbomb for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Owens is celebrating and heads to the back but he is jumped by Zayn who brawls with him up the ramp but Owens gets the upperhand and flees as Zayn panders to the crowd with a smile as they cheer for him.

"Special Op" hits and the NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to boos from the crowd. He climbs in and cuts a promo about how being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and winning it in the main event of WrestleMania is one of the greatest accomplishments that he has ever had. He continues on for several moments before "Phenomenal" hits and the crowd explodes AJ Styles makes his way to the ring. The two have an intense staredown before Styles cuts a promo about how far he has come in his career before being interrupted by Chris Jericho who comes out to massive heat. He cuts a scathing promo on both Styles and Reigns and calls them both a pathetic waste of space in the wrestling industry. Styles and Jericho both stake a claim to a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Payback but we hear the familiar lyrics: "I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand, they talk to me" and the crowd just about blows the arena up with a raucous ovation as RANDY ORTON finally makes his return to the WWE. He doesn't even cut a promo and simply nails Jericho with the RKO to a huge pop. He looks to Styles and Reigns before nailing Styles with the RKO before turning to Reigns. The two stare each other down and Reigns goes for the Superman Punch but Orton counters it for the RKO! Orton grabs the WWE World Heavyweight title off the mat and holds it high in the air as the show fades to black.

The feud between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor continued over the NXT Championship with Joe promising that Balor would not be champion for very much longer.

The Revival won a tag team bout against The Vaudevillains after hitting the Shatter Machine on Simon Gotch. Following the bout, The Revival would stake their claim to a rematch against American Alpha and the two teams would have a staredown.

Austin Aries squashed Angelo Dawkins in a short bout after hitting him with the Brainbuster.

The main event featured Johnny Gargano taking on Tommaso Ciampa which saw Ciampa get the victory after hitting Project Ciampa.

April 7, 2016

Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman opened the show and Wyatt discussed what happened at WrestleMania and how he is not going to stand for it. The League of Nations interrupted and cut a promo about how the Wyatt Family has effectively ceased to exist and that that will no longer be a factor going forward. Wyatt stated that they will prove their worth at Payback in a 4-on-3 handicap match! The League of Nations accepted.

Baron Corbin continued his impressive first week on the main roster with a big victory over The Miz after hitting him with End of Days.

Dean Ambrose cut a promo about his match at WrestleMania with Brock Lesnar and how he is extending an invitation to Lesnar to show up on Raw for the rematch of a lifetime! 

Lana picked up an upset victory against Tamina after rolling her up. Following the match, Tamina tried to attack Lana but she escaped unharmed.

Dolph Ziggler stated that he wanted a shot at the United States Championship but Ryback let it be known that he was not done chasing the title. Chairwoman Linda McMahon appeared on the titantron and told them that they would compete right now with the winner facing Kalisto at Payback.

Ryback and Dolph Ziggler fought to a double countout after Ryback hit Shell Shocked through the announcer's table. Linda McMahon made the match at Payback a triple threat match for the championship!

Linda McMahon opens the show standing in the center of the ring with a microphone. She talks abut how tonight is going to be a huge night for the WWE. She proceeds to announce AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho versus Randy Orton in the main event with the winner of the match facing off against Roman Reigns at Payback for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! She continues by saying that over the course of the next few weeks, many members of the roster will be fired as the retooling process begins but states that tonight there will be an immunity battle royal where the winner will receive 1 year of immunity from being fired from the company. The crowd is very pleased about this. Linda continues her speech by saying that at Payback, Charlotte will be defending her WWE Women's Championship against Bayley! The crowd pops huge for this one. She thanks the fans and tells them to enjoy the show.

Sasha Banks defeated Emma via submission
A very good opener that saw both women get a large amount of offense in and the end came when Sasha locked in the Bank Statement for the submission victory.

Sami Zayn is interviewed in the back and he says that at Payback, he is going to finally get a one-on-one shot at Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship and that he is going to show the world that he is the future of the WWE and that someone like Owens is not going to stand in his way.

Enzo and Cass w/Carmella defeated The Dudley Boyz via pinfall
A fantastic tag team bout between one of the best up and coming teams and arguably the best tag team in WWE history saw both teams able to showcase themselves until Enzo and Cass hit the Rocket Launcher on D-Von for the pinfall.

Following the match, Enzo Amore cuts a promo on the tag team division on Raw and says that he and Cass are ready to run through every tag team on the roster before finally getting their hands on the WWE tag team gold and you can't teach that.

The Social Outcasts are in the back and are hyping one another up for the immunity battle royal which is happening next and Heath Slater says that he is going to need their help to win because he knows that his head is on the chopping block but the other members aren't so quick to agree with that.

Stardust wins the Immunity Battle Royal last eliminating Tyler Breeze
Pretty much a cluster-fuck of lower to mid-card wrestlers jockeying for a spot saw Big Show dominate early but Stardust managed to sneak away with the win after eliminating Tyler Breeze.

Dean Ambrose comes to the ring looking more psychotic than usual. He cuts a promo about Brock Lesnar and WrestleMania and proceeds to call him out to the ring. "Next Big Thing" hits and Brock Lesnar makes his way out with Paul Heyman by his side. They climb into the ring and Heyman speaks for "The Beast Incarnate" and says that Ambrose was beaten fair and square at WrestleMania and that he doesn't get another opportunity. Ambrose retorts by calling Lesnar a bitch and saying that he is nothing but a pushover. This leads Lesnar to snap and he attacks Ambrose but Ambrose manages to flee to the outside where he hides under the ring. Lesnar reaches under the ring where he grabs Ambrose's leg and hauls him out but Ambrose has...BARBIE! Ambrose swings the barbed wire baseball bat and it collides with Lesnar's arm and Lesnar immediately lets go allowing Ambrose to his feet. Ambrose slams the bat into Lesnar's head, knocking him to the floor. Blood already pouring from his lacerated forehead. Ambrose laughs and smashes the bat into Lesnar's back before throwing it to the ground and climbing atop "The Beast Incarnate" and pounding away with lefts and rights causing even more blood to be spilled. Heyman is speechless in the ring and rolls out to grab a steel chair. He whacks Ambrose over the back with it but Ambrose no-sells it and turns around to see Heyman. Heyman proceeds to flee up the ramp as Ambrose leaves Brock Lesnar a bloody mess, something we thought we'd never see.

Randy Orton defeated AJ Styles and Chris Jericho via pinfall
An absolute barnburner of a match saw all three men get a great amount of offense and the end came when Styles hit the Styles Clash on Jericho, got hit with an RKO from Orton and Orton Punt Kicked Jericho to pin him for the victory.

After the match, Roman Reigns comes out on stage with the WWE World Heavyweight title in hand and he holds it up in the air as he has a staredown with Orton.

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe had a giant brawl to open the show and General Manager William Regal booked a match between the two for the NXT Championship on the pre-show of Payback! A first ever for NXT.

The Revival continued their tear through the NXT tag team division by defeating Blake and Murphy after hitting Blake with the Shatter Machine. After the match, it was confirmed that next week, American Alpha would defend their titles against The Revival!

Nia Jax demolished Peyton Royce in a quick squash match after hitting her with a leg drop.

The main event featured Shinsuke Nakamura facing off against Elias Samson and Nakamura claimed the victory after hitting the Kinshasa.

April 14, 2016

Baron Corbin picked up yet another win, finishing off R-Truth with the End of Days. After the match, he made it clear that he wanted the United States Championship.

The League of Nations cut a promo regarding their match at Payback against The Wyatt Family and claim that they are going to show the world why they are the greatest faction in the world. The Social Outcasts came out and begged to differ before an impromptu 8-man tag match occurred and LON beat the Outcasts are King Barrett hit the Bull Hammer on Bo Dallas.

Mauro Ranallo and Byron Saxton hyped up the upcoming King of the Ring tournament which will feature 16 superstars battling for the crown.

The Lucha Dragons picked up an impressive victory over Ryback and Dolph Ziggler after Ryback hit Ziggler with Shell Shocked and deserted him in the ring.

Lana claimed she was coming for Charlotte's WWE Women's Championship.

In the main event, AJ Styles picked up a victory over Jack Swagger after hitting him with the Styles Clash.

Love Balor/Joe having a NXT Championship match on the pre-show of Payback. It kinda saves a NXT Takeover event having to be another Balor and Joe match, which I believe even the real NXT writers wanted to avoid lol... Rooting for The Revival to win the titles back btw!!

WWE News, Rumors and More

- It has been confirmed that the WWE have come to terms on the releases of Fandango, Goldust, Mark Henry, Cameron and Tamina. They wish them the best in all of their future endeavors.

- Zack Ryder will move down to NXT on a full time basis where he will continue to team with Mojo Rawley as The Hype Bros.

- It is rumored that the WWE are in talks with several independent talents from around the world including The Young Bucks and Kenny King. More to come as the story develops.

- It is confirmed that the WWE have signed Angelina Love (who will perform as Angel Williams) and Katarina Waters (better known as Katie Lea Burchill) who will perform as Kat Leigh. Both women will head to NXT.

- It is unknown as of this moment what is going on with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, who signed WWE contracts a few months ago. They have yet to make their WWE debut and have yet to make any statements regarding their future with the company.
