I'm still trying to gather things from your Payback show. WOW!! No offense, because I've always appreciated your creative mind, but it hit another level with this. It blew me away what show you produced.
First, the preshow was great, probably better than I could've imagined booking it, especially with three Muscle Busters.
Then the opening match has Kalisto retain with the United States Championship, but you bring Shinsuke Nakamura up. Nakamura's challenging for the United States Championship?! That was totally 100000% unexpected, and that kicked off Payback with a BANG!
Using Francesca to retain the titles for The New Day was genius, and probably bring more credibility to the team of Enzo and Cass as viable contenders and serious threats to the WWE Tag Team Championships.
How you separated Wade Barrett from the League of Nations is a thousand times better than what WWE did, just kicking Barrett out as the "weak link" and then releasing him. Though I don't believe Barrett repeats as King of the Ring, nor should he, it peels a new layer to Barrett and will probably make him back into an upper mid-card talent.
The vignette of John Cena's return had detail and I'm interested to see how he comes back, when he comes back, and what he does when he returns. You've got me excited already.
Charlotte retaining the title and then kicking her own father in the gonads just totally caught me off guard and you pulled that shock factor out of me as a viewer. Like, WHAT?!?! I'm still trying to piece together what happened there, and if that was a face turn, or if she'll still be present as a heel. I'm just so uncertain right now, but it's brilliant, making me anticipate Raw even more to see what is the fallout of that! And then, Bayley tapped out, so I wonder who possibly could be next??
It looks like Corbin and Taker had a WrestleMania-like feel, but Baron Corbin emerged victorious and seemed to be a better match than it should've been. I don't know if I should applaud you for pulling out the best match, or boo you for making it a tad unrealistic that Undertaker could take it to the limit against a young inexperienced star, let alone Undertaker wrestling at Payback, a month after a WrestleMania fight, which he just hasn't done in a while. Normally he takes it to his breaking point at Mania and he's gone home.
Ambrose and Lesnar seemed amazing, but felt there could've been a few words to tie Lesnar's F-5 and such and then the final finisher with Ambrose, but that's nitpicking. I think that would've been an amazing match, and Ranallo talking about Lesnar's career could be over, that'd set something up amazing for SummerSlam, Survivor Series, WrestleMania, or whenever you bring him back. I can't wait!!
Owens and Zayn seemed like a great match, even the finish was so amazing!! You did that perfectly, and Kevin winning was such a shock, but it was a believable win for The Prized Fighter. Excellent work!
Reigns and Orton, I feel, you should've elaborated more on what the match was, and how Orton could've taken Reigns to another level and brought the best out of him, but oh well... But yes, the return of Rollins was scripted amazingly!
Your Payback is probably perhaps one of the best followup PPVs I've read off a WrestleMania in a WWE booker in some time, if ever. No offense to anyone else, but I feel this topped my Extreme Rules PPV that I chose to follow up WrestleMania with. It honestly had a WrestleMania type feel, and you used Payback to hype up the following night on Raw, making people want to tune in for several reasons, including Seth's return. This should be an amazing Raw!
And I wanna ask a favor. For your Raw, once you get it up, tag me. Tag me in the post of your Raw and I'll read it, please.
Great job on your Payback! It was well worth the wait.
