The Carolina Panthers are on the board, and this is my most anticipated pick of all night, since I am a Panthers fan. Please guys, don't let your fans down.

I meant to ask who you wanted hahaha Well, I originally wanted Eli Apple or Robert Nkemiche, but I knew they would be a stretch, but I had hope. After Robert got taken, I was really expecting us to go after a DE like Emmanuel Ogbah or a CB like Mackensie Alexander. I know you said they're preparing for Star and Kawann to leave, but they're both under contract until next year at least. So I don't understand the need for the pick now, try to sign them to contracts next year and if you can't, draft someone next year. We already have Kyle Love as a backup to our starters, and Love played great last year when he got on the field. So unless Vernon can transfer him over to DE, I don't understand the pick AT ALL.

Kawann Short is entering into the final year of his deal, and maybe they want to groom a guy like Vernon Butler in, just being part of the rotation for the first year while taking on a bigger role in the second year if he's earned it. A lot of Super Bowl caliber teams do this, so it's good to see the front office take a step in the right direction. But this almost rules out Short coming back to Carolina after this year, expecting Short to have a big contract ahead. But if Butler underperforms and shows to be a bust only in limited playing time of a year, they might try everything they can to retain Short.

I just question the pick a lot, because we do have other needs that are more major than a Defensive Tackle, such as a OT, DE (since Charles Johnson is 30 and on a 1 year deal), or CB. With how deep this draft is at DT, we could have waited for this a DT pick, not go after it in the first round.

I've compared him to Byron Jones, a player Dallas took last year who in his rookie season, played both corner and safety and did both tremendously. Ramsey should play the first year at both positions, get a feel, and they'll know where is the best place to put him come 2017 when the offense has matured, there's more pieces on that defense, and the Jaguars can aim for a winnable AFC South crown. Rankins to New Orleans- With there being talks originally of the Saints needing the successor to Drew Brees, of the Saints needing to take Laquon Treadwell (who was the fourth receiver off the board tonight), the Saints took Sheldon Rankins, who went in the range of a similar player of Aaron Donald, who blew up his rookie year with the Rams. Although Donald entered into a better situation than Rankins in terms of what was around him, Sheldon Rankins should still find success with New Orleans and have made a name for himself in a couple years when the Saints get playmakers around him. It wasn't the popular pick, but Rankins will be a popular player in NOLA. Doctson to Washington- After Jon talked Josh Doctson up before the draft, I took a better look at him and he might be what Washington needs. If you look around the division, Dallas has Dez Bryant, New York has Odell Beckham, Philadelphia has Jordan Matthews, and the Redskins get a kid who is similar to Matthews, Josh Doctson from TCU. Doctson played against some stout competition in the Big-12, as did Dez at Oklahoma State, and the Redskins sure up a receiver position. At first glance, I looked at all their receivers in Andre Roberts, Jamison Crowder, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, but I digressed, and saw it was smart. They trade back one spot, gain an extra pick, and still get Doctson. The Redskins also are able to move Garcon or Jackson, or maybe even cut them altogether, while Crowder and Doctson go into Washington's future. Picks I don't like: (since HATE is a strong word) Joseph to Oakland5'9 3/ 8" safety from West Virginia, Karl Joseph, was taken at 14th overall. I don't know if Joseph translates to the NFL level, being so small, and you take a risk thinking he's the next Earl Thomas. Though Karl might fit into what Oakland's trying to build, they disappointed me with this draft pick, when I've been applauding their drafts recently, except the one with DJ Hayden. I also feel at 14 they could've gotten a better player, perhaps Ryan Kelly from Alabama, which would be a step up from Rodney Hudson in my opinion, as well as getting along with Shaq Lawson, Darron Lee, William Jackson, Artie Burns, Joshua Garnett, or heck, even one of the wide receivers to give Carr another weapon and establish something like Jacksonville, setting the offense for the next 8-10 years. And if they had their hearts set on Joseph, why not trade back, acquire more picks, and still get Karl Joseph? I would imagine there was people calling to inquire about the 14th pick, but even if you don't get Joseph, there would've been more quality safeties on Day 2.... Just no to Joseph at 14. Decker to DetroitThis is beyond laughable to me. Taylor Decker, one who I was highly vocal about being disappointed in at the Combine, is drafted by the Lions in the first round. Detroit couldn't snag a top offensive tackle in free agency, and they didn't tank right to get a top 3 pick, so they get Taylor Decker instead. It's baffling to me, really. I see nothing special about Decker, and really a dirty player who can lose his cool at times when getting dominated. Decker was lackluster at the NFL Combine, not looking smooth at all, and I don't believe he did one thing right that today. I don't believe he's a top 5 offensive tackle in this draft on talent alone, but hey, who knows... Oh, I know, it's Detroit, he's going to be just as bad as the Lions. Nkemdiche to ArizonaThere are people with question marks and red flags this draft, but none bigger than Robert Nkemdiche. To begin with, his off-the-field issues. The night he fell from a four-story balcony, whether he was drunk or high that night, he had marijuana cigarettes in his room. Not to take shots at that lifestyle, but as a NFL player who should've been a top-15 pick, you need to know better when all the attention will be on you. Then you look into his play on the field, and though he has all the talent in the world, he'd disappear in the biggest games. He's one inconsistent player, and being an inconsistent player on and off the field, I wouldn't dare touch him as a Cowboys fan who NEEDS the defensive line help, let alone Arizona who has a pretty nice defense as it is. And as a Cowboys fan, I'm already tired of Randy Gregory for getting popped 4 games again because he can't decide to kick the habit, so I don't see where this will benefit Arizona.

With how deep this draft is at DT, we could have waited for this a DT pick, not go after it in the first round. Yeah, I hear you man. Look at Dallas, who has the 4th-best rusher in the league last season in Darren McFadden, who didn't start all 16 games last season because Joseph Randle started out the year, and then you sign the 2nd-best rusher from 2012 in Alfred Morris, who can still go.... Buuuuuuuuut you draft a running back, not only that, but 4th overall. This being when you didn't re-sign Greg Hardy, Lawrence and Gregory are dealing with suspensions, and you don't have a secondary to compensate for that lack of pass rush. Then again, with Bosa gone, they still could've traded down a few spots and gotten a Shaq Lawson or something. But DE and DT were pretty much the same in terms of need level, considering both Johnson and Short are on 1-year deals. But totally agree, if I were the Panthers, I would've picked an offensive tackle or a cornerback, as I also heard another Carolina fan say as well. Buuuuut for the record, you wanted Nkemdiche who in that system would've been a 4-3 DT. Just saying...

There were a lot of questionable calls made throughout the draft, wither it be with when someone got picked or who picked someone, there's alot to question about the first round this year. Yeah, I wanted Nkemdiche, but the reason being is that he has experience playing DT and DE, not just one position. I can't really find much on Vernon Butler, so I want to assume he just played DT in college. I just question it, but I'll have to see where it goes from here. Last year, I semi-questioned the Shaq Thompson, because in college, he did play Safety, which was a position we needed, but he also primarily played OLB, which I made me question cause I figured he would play only LB, which that feeling was right. But looking back at it now, the call to take Shaq was a great one because he's being groomed to take over for the "aging" Thomas Davis, and he's playing great where he is right now. So I guess I'm just going to have to see how this plays out. I'm really hoping we'll dig in and take a mainly DE tomorrow. I'm really hoping in the 2nd or 3rd round we take a certain DE/DT from the Florida Gators by the name of Jonathan Bullard. Besides the fact that Jon Jon is a great athlete on the field, I went to high school with him, and I'd like to see him get drafted and succeed.
