In the year 2016, the UFC stood as the biggest mixed martial arts company in the world and although Bellator was in second, they really stood no match. That was when Emmett McLaughlin from Vancouver, British Columbia decided that he wanted to try his hands in the business and see what he could do so he created Warrior MMA.
The rules of Warrior MMA are as follows:
Warrior MMA follows the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, which were first established in April 2000. The Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts have been adopted by every state athletic commission that holds mixed martial arts events throughout the United States.
Under the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts there are no groin strikes, eye gouging, kicking or kneeing a grounded opponent, downward elbows, strikes to the back of the head, head butting, biting, or grabbing the fence. Upon a violation of the rules, referee can either warn the fighter, take a point away, or disqualify the fighter depending upon the regularity and severity of the foul.
All non-world championship fights in Warrior MMA consist of three, five-minute rounds, with one-minute rest periods between rounds. All world championship fights in Warrior MMA consist of five, five-minute rounds, with one-minute rest periods between rounds.
There are currently only three weight classes in Warrior MMA and they are as follows:
Welterweight (170 lbs) Lightweight (155 lbs) Featherweight (145 lbs)

Undefeated welterweight Ben Askren has been confirmed to have signed a contract with Warrior MMA. So far, this is the biggest signing that the company has been able to acquire. Askren stated that he's excited for new challenges. Another huge signing sees UFC veteran welterweight Thiago Alves jumping ship to Warrior. Warrior 1: The RiseJune 5, 2016 Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Welterweight Bout Zak Cummings (19-4) vs. Josh Neer (36-16-1) The first bout of the evening got Warrior MMA off to a pretty good start as Cummings and Neer went back and forth for the entire 3 rounds and it seemed as though the bout could go for either man as both had gotten a fair amount of offense in on one another. Result: Zak Cummings (20-4) def. Josh Neer (36-17-1) via split decision.
Lightweight Bout Mateusz Gamrot (11-0) vs. Michael Chandler (14-3) Gamrot used his young age to tire Chandler out quickly but Chandler managed to battle back using his experience advantage. Late in the fight, Gamrot connected with a hard right to the temple to knock him unconcious. Result: Mateusz Gamrot (12-0) def. Michael Chandler (14-4) via KO (punch) at 2:01 of Round 3.
Featherweight Bout Hacran Dias (23-4) vs. Nam Phan (21-14) A slow and methodical bout between the two aging fighters which saw several takedown attempts as well as Phan coming close to being knocked out but the fight ended up going the distance. Result: Hacran Dias (24-4) def. Nam Phan (21-15) via unanimous decision.
Welterweight Bout Benson Henderson (23-6) vs. Josh Koscheck (17-10) Definitely the fight of the night as both men gave it their all for 3 straight rounds. By the end of the fight, both Henderson and Koscheck's faces were busted up and bloody which just shows how much both men gave to this bout. Some highlights saw a rear-naked choke attempt by Henderson which Koscheck managed to escape from. Result: Benson Henderson (24-6) def. Josh Koscheck (17-11) via split decision.
Welterweight Championship Bout Ben Askren (15-0) vs. Thiago Alves (21-10) What many expected to be one of the greatest fights we've ever seen was just not the case as Askren came out of his corner and absolutely demolished Alves with an uppercut to knock him out. Result: Ben Askren (16-0) def. Thiago Alves (21-11) via KO (punch) at 0:17 of Round 1 to win the Warrior MMA Welterweight Championship.
Post-Fight Press Conference Highlights: - Benson Henderson called out Ben Askren for a shot at the Welterweight title. - President Emmett McLaughlin stated that the Lightweight title would be on the line at Warrior 2 with Melvin Guillard facing Takanori Gomi. - Nam Phan admitted that he was contemplating retirement following his unanimous decision loss.

Nice to see you have a booker going again... The first card was underwhelming though with what I believe to be uneven fights booked... but that is just my opinion.
