REGULAR SEASON WEEK 1
NEWS
-The Chicago Bears sign DT Austin Johnson off the Browns’ practice squad. -The Chicago Beats sign LT Jeffery Wang off the Browns’ practice squad. -The Denver Broncos sign MLB Scooby Wright III off the Browns’ practice squad. -The Browns sign RT Shon Coleman, ROLB Tre Breeland, and RE Bronson Kaufusi to their practice squad.
KEY GAME STORYLINES
-The Browns went 8-8 last season, and managed to find some gems in the draft. Corey Coleman had a dominant preseason, but will have a new QB. Cody Kessler has taken the starting job from Robert Griffin III, due to RG3’s poor play over the last two weeks of the preseason.
-Cody Kessler will make his first career start, and will do so against a division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
-The Browns will be missing WR J.J. Nelson, who suffered a torn shoulder in the last week of preseason. The Steelers will have a full roster for this game. Ben Roethlisberger is the QB this week, and he’ll have Le’Veon Bell and Danny Woodhead in the backfield with him. Out wide, Antonio Brown is his biggest weapon, but Martinis Bryant an rookie Vladimir Gaylor will be options, as well as Ladarius Green at TE. Their front 7 is solid, but the secondary is leaky.

POST GAME REPORT
Cody Kessler looked stellar in his first career start. He threw five touchdowns, but was inconsistent passing. Rookie Kent Gabriel already had what will probably be one of the best games of his entire career, catching 6 passes for 164 yards and 3 touchdowns. This game showed just the kind of threat that he’ll be, as a 6’6” speed receiver with good hands, he’ll be the perfect compliment to Corey Coleman. Willie Pounds looked decent, playing better than Darren McFadden. Roland Hawkins’ first catch was for a touchdown as well. On defense, the team was unspectacular, but solid enough to win the game.

POST GAME REPORT
Cody Kessler had a great game this week, despite only throwing the ball 17 times. He threw for 5 touchdowns, 4 of which were not only from outside of the redone, but from the opposite side of the 50. Corey Coleman put up 4 TD catches, showing off his speed and constantly beating press coverage. Coleman is a special receiver, helped by a beat in Kent Gabriel. This offense puts up points in droves, making up for what the defense may lack at times.

DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller V are on the outside, with Ben Watson at TE. J.J. Watt is a force at DE for the Texans, and headlines an overall solid defense that will give Cody Kessler a test.

POST GAME REPORT
Cody Kessler was less than stellar in this game, only throwing one touchdown and two interceptions, going with a 38.7 passer rating. The Browns offense was inept until the second half, when the Browns made a change and brought in Willie Pounds, who carried the game from then on out. Without Pounds, the Browns would have likely lost this game. Now, they’re an unlikely 3-0.

POST GAME REPORT
Cody Kessler was rebounded from last week, with 3 touchdowns and one interception. There were 2 turnovers for the Browns defense, but there could have been more, as there were 3 fumbles that were overturned. Corey Coleman caught another 2 touchdowns, and looks to be the best receiver in the league. The running game could never get going, no matter who was in the game.
