It is with heavy hearts that we must announce to you that earlier today, Brett Carpenter was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Carpenter wrestled in numerous promotions through the years including NGW where he was one half of the tag team champions. In lieu of flowers, Carpenter's family is asking that you make a donation to a charity of your choosing.
Rest in peace Brett. We'll miss you.

After nearly ten years in professional wrestling Anthony Johnson has decided to hang up the boots. He had this to say in an interview with a local radio station in Brooklyn, New York. "I'm only 27 but I've spent so much of my life in professional wrestling that I feel like I'm 32. I've wrestled in so many promotions that I can't even remember them all, I've won numerous titles. I guess it's time to move on, I still love wrestling and maybe someday I'll come back but you know for now I'm done."

Universal Wrestling Federation's own Devin Smith has found himself caught in the rumor mill yet again. Sources within the UWF organization have suspicions that the former IWA Champion is nearing the end of career. As most already know, Devin Smith was previously retired from the ring as he entered an administrative role in the now defunct Heritage Wrestling Federation. The source goes on to say that Devin Smith's character has become more of a throwback to his over-the-top Hollywood attitude that he had during his time in company's such as CWW, NGW and IWA. There are also rumors of an Entourage reunion to end his career but it's highly unlikely due to the way the relationship between Devin Smith and Beverly Hill ended. For those uninformed, Devin is now engaged to her sister, Rose, your imagination can fill in the details. This is certainly an interesting development as Devin enters into what appears to be a feud with the retired Keith Copeland but it could all be a smokescreen orchestrated by Devin Smith and his agent to entice UWF into giving him more guaranteed money in his new contract as his current one is only a pay-per-appearance deal.

38-year old pro wrestler Alex Dillinger took a recent interview with New Age Insiders and revealed some stuff last week. Here are the highlights. What he's been up to lately: "I've got a 6-year old daughter at home, and a wife, so that's been fun to see her get involved. She begins Kindergarten next week, so I'm blessed to spend time with her. Wrestling wise, I'm just enjoying being a fan. I really enjoy appearances occasionally, to give back to the fans."His thoughts on Brett Carpenter's death: "It hit me pretty hard. We didn't have a big moment in wrestling, but to lose anyone in the business is rough. At a young age, too. It hits you hard when it's one of your brothers, by relation to this business, to have such a thing happen. All my thoughts and prayers are with his family, still. It's hard to believe it's been six months."Favorite Tag Team Partner: "I was fortunate to have some good tag partners, whether we won a title, several, or none at all, in whatever companies we did. Hands down, my favorite would have to be Peter [Kaymakcian]. Again, I loved all my partners, but Peter and I had that chemistry nobody could replace. Unfortunately, we couldn't travel around the world and make it a permanent thing because of personal stuff he had to go through at the time. The guy to fill in, really, was Jarrett [Calloway]. Jarrett was excellent, and we killed it in ECCW, and even won a title there at Mikel's place, CCW. However, I'll say this. The title reign I had most fun with was Mason Taylor. That came towards the end of my career, and meant a lot to me, to make me feel I still had it, and even more so looking back on it today, knowing it was the final title run I ever had on me. Also we would part ways and have a nice feud. It was good times, yes it was."Total Wrestling Mayhem: "You know, many feel I hated it there. I lost my matches and there was a lot of rumors going around surrounding my relationship with Mikel, Natalie, and the company, but that's not true at all! I decided to come on board day one and help out. I had a veteran leadership to guys who were just starting out in the business. When I was losing matches, the next day I'd be in the gym with guys like Thomas [Marco Polo], James [Jared Jakes], Mo, Hunter... The rumors about me not liking there, is far from the truth. They even allowed me to be apart of some executive decisions while on board, and I was often asked my opinion on guys. I not only felt I benefited the careers of the young talents, but also benefited myself. And at the end of the day, it gave me a paycheck and provided for my family."Hottest Thing Going Today: "Unfortunately, the wrestling business is sort of dead at our level of competition. We, the fans and wrestlers included, were spoiled with such as WXW and NGW. Then way back, there was a time with Mikel's CCW and Mitch's CWW... I still wonder if they're kin. *laughs*. But I really hope somebody steps up and brings something up off the ground, or from the ashes."Will He Ever Be That Person: "You never say never in life, and more specific, this business. I love the backstage aspect of things, and I really want to give a solid platform for a kid who wants to make it big in the business, doing what he loves with all his passion. I say this, though; I see myself in more of a trainer/coach role, than I do see myself in a suit. But may I say again, to never say never."Thoughts on Anthony Johnson's Retirement: "Anthony's one incredible athlete. He was graced at age 17 to enter this business, and ten years in it made him a man. Personally, I feel he's underestimating his abilities, as 27 is normally the prime of your career. Grant it, there's nothing much going on, but he could still be training, going to the gym, and working on being that main event guy right away at someone's place. I put 12 years in the business, dating to my final match last year. Maybe Anthony's had more wear and tear on his body, but I'd love to see if he could come back and work on cementing his legacy as one of the best this sport's ever seen. Luckily, I get to stay out of that conversation. That would drive me to the brink of insanity!"Thinking About Un-Retiring: "Well, I'm not retired, for starters. But I'd love to get in the ring with some younger talents, because I feel I could keep up, if my schedule was right. Again, I have a family, and I'm enjoying the home life. If I ever did anything in the business again, full-time, it'd have to be within driving distance from my home in Atlanta."

Retired professional wrestler and successful businessman Keith Copeland recently became a multi millionaire as he pushes his company further. Copeland Creations has spread across the world as Keith has put out everything from movies to albums. Copeland is not alone in his company as he returned to working with his former partners in business and wrestling, Jacob Smith who once competed with Copeland in the first season of DOOM before rivaling him and becoming his friend and manager and his other partner Dominic "Superman" Johnson who is also a former DOOM World Champion like Copeland. The three were recently reached out about the possibility of a wrestling company coming out of Copeland Creations and they all had similar replies saying that they were possible of anything in their company.

Former NGW & NIWA Superstar Max Thesz has been in the news recently after signing a contract with Bellator MMA. The last 18 months or so has seen Thesz leave the wrestling business temporarily to focus on his other passion of Mixed Martial Arts. Here's a recent quote taken from Thesz during an interview from MMA Magazine "I wanted to make the change now. I'm 26 and I've been in the Wrestling business for 4 years so I'm still young enough to go away, hopefully find success in Bellator and come back to wrestling in the future. I really need to thank Frazer Tomkins. We took our partners away on a couples vacation 2 years ago and I told him of how I wanted to try MMA. If it wasn't for him convincing me, I wouldn't be where I am" Thesz has confirmed via his twitter that he already has his first fight scheduled for around 6 months time. No name has been confirmed yet but the rumor mill seems to suggest it could be Benson Henderson

In RemembranceDevin Smith was at one point one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling with a resume great enough to almost match his ego. He was respected by some of his peers for his talent and transparency while hated by others for his selfish attitude and misogynistic ways. He always talked about how he felt his talent was wasted by almost every promotion he wrestled for despite his consistent top of the card bookings. It was a testament to his hunger to be the best in everything he did but his hunger appeared to be a blessing and a curse as he struggled with alcoholism, drug addiction and sex addiction. He managed to keep it contained while under contract with various promotions but it got worse and worse as work became less regular when multiple promotions went under. He seemed to be getting his life straightened out in his final run in ECWW when he got engaged to Rose Hill. It appeared that he was finally happy with his life when ECWW went under and he decided to call it a career. After his 'retirement' it was apparent that he had a lot of issues as TMZ had caught him leaving high-profile clubs in New York and L.A with unidentified women while his wedding to Rose Hill was being planned. Their relationship was on the rocks but still afloat as it was assumed that he was just 'getting it out of his system' before he got married. It wasn't until a sex-tape featuring Devin Smith and Rose Hill 'leaked' that their relationship appeared to be over. Devin Smith just continued in his downward spiral but he did try to right the ship as he allegedly pestered Rose Hill but she had moved onto someone else in the pro wrestling industry, whom actually trained under Devin Smith, Derrick Saint. Devin was so distraught and lost that he was romantically linked with many of his exes including Amanda Miller, Angela Cairo, Stella Cruz and Chanel Eden but none of them appeared to be more than dates or hook-ups. Eventually, rumors of a reunion with Beverly Hill appeared but were quickly shot down by Beverly Hill. Several of Devin Smith's closest friends tried to reach out to him as it became obvious that his health was declining. Nobody really knew what was wrong other than his alcohol, cocaine and sex addictions. It wasn't until July 16th 2016 that he figured out what was really wrong with him. He was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he was diagnosed with AIDS. He spent almost a month in the hospital as he made amends with Beverly and Rose Hill, his family and some of his real-life wrestling rivals before he passed away due to complications from AIDS on August 8th 2016. He will be hopefully be remembered for his talent, his hidden heart and his dedication to doing what he loved. After his death, sources who wish to remain anonymous have revealed that Devin was sick before he even caught AIDS as he suffered from multiple mental illnesses including severe depression, bipolar and OCD. These all led to his multiple addictions which inherently led to the disease that killed him. Devin Smith September 7th 1986 - August 8th 2016 The End. OT= I'm bored, high and wanted to close the door on the whole E-Fed thing. I spent so much time with the Devin Smith character that I feel like I needed to definitively end it and this kind of ending was the kind of ending I've always wanted for the character. Tragic but inevitable.

OT: Just because I am extremely bored, I'm doing this. For those who were around during The WWE U era and remember some of these characters, you guys are the real MVPs.
---
Three members of the inaugural ECCW roster, from over 8 years ago, Fire Heart, Super Jacko, and Jason Blade disappeared off the map after each of their individual runs with the company ended, with Super Jacko being the only member of the ECCW Hall of Fame due to his accomplishments in the company.
Fire Heart retired from the business after his release from ECCW, putting away the mask for the final time and living a simple life as the owner of an auto shop in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. When asked about his friendship with Jacko and Blade, he replied that they had been two of his closest friends, and he would not have traded them for the world. When asked about his wrestling career, he replied that it was a good time in his life, and he enjoyed it, but he would not go back. He was happy with his life now.
Super Jacko, as many fans remember, was paralyzed in his final wrestling match of his career, facing off against Hardcore Demon. Years later, Jacko lives at home with his wife and son, and with the advancements of technology, has regained some use of his legs. When asked about the final match of his career, Jacko replied that he regretted ever agreeing to do the spot that crippled him, because of Demon's past history of injuring those he stepped in the ring with. When asked if he still has his ECCW Hall of Fame ring, he replied that he still has it, and still keeps in touch with Fire Heart, former ECCW General Manager, ECCW Co-Founder and Owner and Hall of Famer Richie, and former ECCW General Manager, ECCW Co-Founder and Owner and Hall of Famer Matthew Jericho.
Jason Blade, the final member of the trio, retired as well after his run with ECCW ended. According to friends and family, Blade slipped into a deep depression over how his career ended, and ended up committing suicide at the age of 41. He was cremated in a small ceremony attended by his family, Fire Heart and Super Jacko. When asked about Blade, Both men responded that they cared for him deeply, and that he was always a good man, regardless of his demons. Both men also responded with matching tattoos in honor of their fallen friend.
R.I.P Jason Blade. Champion, Father, Brother, and Friend.
