This is going to be the most ambitious BTB I have ever undertaken. In it, I will be rebooking every year from 1990 to 2015. There will certainly be changes and certainly be new icons made. Stay tuned to see what happens over this 25 year journey!

1990 | The First Half
The year 1990 began just like any other year in the WWF with the build up to the annual Royal Rumble event. The talk of the event was the feud that was brewing between Mr. Perfect and Hulk Hogan over the WWF Championship and that’s where we’ll begin.
Main Event Scene (January – June 1990) As the year began, Mr. Perfect claimed that Hulk Hogan was a paper champion and that he was determined to show that he is the next great thing in the WWF. Hogan agreed to put his championship on the line against Perfect at the Royal Rumble event. Hogan came out as the victory in the match and Perfect was left scurrying with his tail between his legs. Roddy Piper would become the winner of the Royal Rumble match.
In the lead up to WrestleManiaVI, Piper and Hogan had a war of words both in the ring and in real life. The two would brawl many times until WrestleMania, on April 1, 1990, arrived where Piper would become the brand new WWF Champion shocking many.
Not only was the feud between Piper and Hogan on many people’s minds but Randy Savage and Ted DiBiase reignited their feud from two years ago and DiBiase claimed that Savage is just a ‘roided up freak of nature. Virgil assaulted Savage in the back and a match was set up at WrestleMania which saw Savage finally get revenge and defeat DiBiase once and for all.
Following WrestleMania, the King of the Ring tournament was announced which would decide who would be facing Piper at SummerSlam. World Tag Team Champion Andre the Giant decimated the field and won the right to fight for the WWF Championship.
Mid-Card Scene (January – June 1990) Ultimate Warrior was on top of the mid-card world as the year began and was adamant that he would remain the Intercontinental Champion for a very long time to come. Rick Martel thought otherwise and challenged him to a match for the title on January 9, 1990 which he would win by rolling him up and holding his tights to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Warrior was not pleased and demanded a rematch which was scheduled for the Royal Rumble on January 21, 1990 which Warrior would win to regain the Intercontinental Championship.
Following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Jake Roberts assaulted Warrior and staked a claim to a shot at the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania which WWF President Jack Tunney agreed to. At WrestleMania, Warrior retained the championship via disqualification when Roberts used his pet snaked against him. Tunney scheduled a rematch on April 3 which Roberts would successfully defeat Warrior to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Days later, on April 9, 1990, Roberts would suffer a severe injury which would force him out of action and force him to vacate the championship. This led to WWF President Jack Tunney scheduling a battle royal for the championship on April 21, 1990 which was shockingly won by Paul Roma.
Besides the Intercontinental Championship, there were various other mid-card feuds taking place during this period including Mr. Perfect squaring off against Jim Duggan at WrestleMania as well as Rick Martel trying his hardest to become the Intercontinental Champion once again by hosting an open challenge which was accepted by the debuting Undertaker at WrestleMania. Martel was absolutely destroyed as The Undertaker handily defeated him.
Tag Team Scene (January – June 1990) The World Tag Team Champions Andre the Giant and Haku absolutely dominated the tag team division in the first half of the year, not losing a single match from January until June. They, however, defended their titles many times including against The Rockers at the Royal Rumble and Demolition at WrestleMania but those two teams fell short of winning.
Meanwhile, The Hart Foundation seemed to be having some problems communicating and working as a team and it was further complicated when Bret’s brother Owen returned to the WWF. A match between Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart was scheduled for WrestleMania which saw Hart come out on top with help from his brother. Neidhart would exit the WWF soon after. Owen would then team up with his brother as The Hart Brothers.
Releases and Debuts (January – June 1990 Al Pere (released February 1990) Jim Neidhart (released May 1990) The Undertaker (debuted April 1990) Owen Hart (debuted March 1990)

Initial Thoughts: - YEEESSSS!!!!! I remember when Joey went back in time and did a booker! It was excellente!! Can't wait to see what comes of this. After the First Series: - What better to do than Hogan versus Piper at Mania? Nothing!! Brilliance to go that route. - Andre the Giant versus Roddy Piper at SummerSlam should be a tough challenge for Hot Rod! Looking forward to how Piper gets through that one. - The Intercontinental Title picture seems like a mess like in 2015, but I almost feel like you're going to give the strap to a young, promising talent in this next chapter, and hopefully he holds it for a while before moving on to bigger and better things. - What can I say about the Undertaker debuting at WrestleMania? Seriously, what can I? (this is an outrageous compliment) - I'm a big fan of Andre and Haku keeping their belts the 6 months. Perhaps before the big SummerSlam match, Piper costs them the titles to heat this up more?? - Jim Neidhart released, I'm not sure how I feel... - Excited about Owen Hart and The Undertaker with their careers, how you book them. But remember, sometimes you can take these wrestlers on different characters, so don't ever forget that little twist! (I wouldn't have suggested having Taker with a different gimmick anyways) All in all, this was an excellent(e) start to your booker, Joey! This seemed like a good format to use, but you're always cautious as to "Are they having title changes and debuts just to make their recap sound interesting, or do they have a plan".. After seeing the tag titles being held 6 months, it shows you truly do have a plan. I'm truly looking forward to all this, as I've never seen anyone take a booker in the past (of any year) and make it, not only their own, but do it with such care and preciseness, it's beautiful and easy to get into... So Joey, my friend, you don't need any luck!! All I'll say is two things: 1) I'll be reading and tracking with the best of my ability. 2) I don't promise doing a review like this each chapter (pending how fast you write them, among other things), but if I comment on your bookings and left a piece out that you wanted feedback on, don't hesitate to ask me my thoughts.

1990 | The Second Half
Main Event Scene (June – December 1990) Roddy Piper prepared for his first ever summer as the WWF Champion but Andre the Giant was confident that he was going to become the new champion at SummerSlam. Andre and Haku attacked Piper and beat him to a bloody pulp the week before SummerSlam. At SummerSlam, on August 27, 1990, Andre defeated Piper to become the new WWF Champion.
Weeks later, Randy Savage assaulted Andre and staked his claim for a shot at the WWF Championship but Hulk Hogan thought otherwise and the two beat up on each other. WWF President Jack Tunney booked Team Savage vs. Team Hogan at Survivor Series with the leader of the winning team getting a shot at the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble. Hogan’s team consisted of The Hart Brothers and returning Jake Roberts while Savage’s team consisted of The Rockers and Paul Roma; Savage’s team came out victorious thus granting him a shot at the WWF Championship.
Meanwhile, former WWF Champion Roddy Piper tried to recover from losing the WWF title by feuding with numerous people before finally embroiling in a feud with The Undertaker. The feud continued into Survivor Series where the two faced off in a singles match which was won by Roddy Piper. The feud didn’t end there, however, as Piper challenged Undertaker to a casket match at the Royal Rumble which was accepted!
Mid-Card Scene (June – December 1990) Reigning Intercontinental Champion Paul Roma got involved in a mini-feud with The Warlord which he was successful in. He feuded with many random jobbers from the roster before embroiling in a feud with the returning Jake Roberts over the title. Roma was able to defend his title successfully against Roberts numerous times and was a member of Randy Savage’s team at Survivor Series.
Following Survivor Series, Paul Roma put out an open challenge to any person in the back and it was accepted by Mr. Perfect! The two went on to put on a series of spectacular matches and Mr. Perfect won the championship on November 28, 1990. Paul Roma demanded a rematch and WWF President Jack Tunney booked it for the next week but Perfect retained the title once again.
Meanwhile, Ted DiBiase and Virgil had a falling out and feuded throughout the fall which ended with Virgil defeating his former manager at Survivor Series before being attacked by the returning Iron Sheik and being saved by the returning Sgt. Slaughter. Ted DiBiase would soon leave the company.
Tag Team Scene (June – December 1990) Andre the Giant and Haku continued their dominance over the tag team division but it was soon put to an end when Roddy Piper interfered in a title defense against The Rockers which led to them becoming the new World Tag Team Champions on July 20, 1990.
Following their title victory, The Rockers became embroiled in a feud with The Hart Brothers which would lead to many great matches between the two teams including a match of the year candidate where The Hart Brothers would be victorious to become the new World Tag Team Champions on December 20, 1990.
Releases and Debuts (June – December 1990) Ted DiBiase (released November 1990) Iron Sheik (returned November 1990) Sgt. Slaughter (returned November 1990) Tugboat (released October 1990) Bad News Brown (released August 1990)

Thoughts on Chapter: - Andre beating Piper was cool stuff lol. Just seemed as if Piper got what he asked for. - I'm personally discontent with the Survivor Series result, feeling as if that Hogan team would blow Savage's out of the water, and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Hogan/Andre. Seems more like a WWF/E thing and what they'd do. - Roddy Piper and Undertaker seems awesome... Would love for Taker to win the casket match and then for the rubber match to happen at WrestleMania. - Mr. Perfect won the Intercontinental Championship exactly 18 years before my sister was born!! How cool is that?! Perfect timing! - So 2 returns (Sheik and Slaughter) in the same night?! Wow!! That's clever, actually. When one return happens, you don't expect the other. - YES! What I thought would happen, WOULD! Andre and Haku losing the titles, thanks to Piper. Made that main event that much better. - I'm glad you had the Rockers have their time in the sun before losing the belts. Glad it wasn't just a 2-month reign and then drop like it was nothing. - DiBiase and Neidhart believing released in a year's span? Yikes!! - Bad News Brown release likely is leading towards another #BNB in the future?? Hmmm? All in all, good first year!! Very intrigued, and you continue to hype up two of your bigger PPVs of the year (SummerSlam and Royal Rumble) with these posts, so you picked a great timeline to do it, as it's not too much work for you, and we don't get sped through an entire year with no build for the next post.. The way you're writing these are great. And if I may comment on something also, is the Survivor Series match. I'm impressed you didn't throw these people together. You actually branched it by having it deal with not only the mid-card picture, but also the tag team scene. Many times a Survivor Series Match is just to get your upper mid-carders in the show with no story, but you did something different, and probably something better than most do!! KEEP THIS UP!!

1991 | The First Half
Main Event Scene (January – June 1991) The feud between Randy Savage and Andre the Giant heated up with Andre and Haku attacking Savage multiple times until the Royal Rumble on January 19, 1991 where Randy Savage defeated Andre to become the new WWF Champion! Andre would leave the company a few short weeks later due to a dispute with management.
The Roddy Piper/Undertaker feud continued as Undertaker defeated Piper in a casket match at the Royal Rumble before going on to win the 1991 Royal Rumble match by last eliminating Hulk Hogan. He proclaimed that Randy Savage would rest in peace at WrestleMania VII and that was exactly what happened as The Undertaker defeated Randy Savage on March 24, 1991 to become the new WWF Champion!
Meanwhile, the last man eliminated from the Royal Rumble match, Hulk Hogan became embroiled in a feud with Ultimate Warrior and the two had a series of fascinating encounters inside and outside of the ring which culminated with Warrior defeating Hogan at WrestleMania in a Career vs. Career match meaning that Hogan was forced to retire.
Over a year after being dismantled by the debuting Undertaker at WrestleMania, Rick Martel made his return and won the annual King of the Ring tournament to earn himself a shot at The Undertaker’s WWF Championship at SummerSlam.
Mid-Card Scene (January – June 1991) Mr. Perfect’s reign as champion continued throughout much of the first half of the year although he had many challengers including Paul Roma trying to regain his championship but he failed to do so and went on to reform his tag team with Jim Powers named The Young Stallions but more on that later. Perfect would then be challenged by Dusty Rhodes who would come very close to defeating him at WrestleMania but was unable to do so. Following this, Perfect became embroiled in a feud with Rick Rude and the two put on a series of fantastic matches before Rude left in late May 1991 for WCW.
Meanwhile, Sgt. Slaughter and Iron Sheik continued their brutal feud with one another which culminated in a Boot Camp match at WrestleMania which saw Slaughter demolish Sheik with the help of Lash and Booker, two debuting wrestlers and brothers.
Tag Team Scene (January – June 1991) The tag team scene heated up big time in the winter and spring of 1991 as several new teams were on the scene with The Young Stallions returning in early February and The Huffmans (Lash and Booker) making their debut at WrestleMania. The Hart Brothers continued their reign as champions until February 23, 1991 when The Bushwhackers scored a fluke victory to become the champions. Their reign didn’t last long because at WrestleMania, The Hart Brothers regained their championships.
Soon after WrestleMania, Owen Hart turned on his brother and WWF President Jack Tunney made the decision to vacate the World Tag Team Championship until a suitable team could be found to become champions. Soon after, The Young Stallions won a tournament on May 2, 1991 to become the new World Tag Team Champions!
Releases and Debuts (January – June 1991) Andre the Giant (left company in January 1991) Rick Rude (left for WCW in May 1991) Lash (debuted in March 1991) Booker (debuted in March 1991) Hulk Hogan (retired in March 1991)

Thoughts on Chapter: - Whaaaaaa?!?! NO MOE ANDRE?!?!?!?! BOOOOO!! -- Cool Savage is champ, but BOOOOO!!!!... And honestly would've preferred Andre to enter Mania as champ, only to be dethroned there, and it seemed there was no rematch. - So no rubber match with Piper, eh? But a world title? If I'm going to be completely honest here, I think it was too soon, but let's see where it goes from here. - Hulk Hogan retired in 1991, wow.. At least it was a Career versus Career match at WrestleMania, instead of him just retiring out of the blue. - I didn't realize Martel left ... And I'm not entirely sold on Martel versus Taker at SummerSlam. - Rick Rude left for WCW? - Glad Mr. Perfect's having a good run with the strap! I'm personally rooting for Mr. Perfect to reign as champion through 1991. - Lash?? You're going to have to help me with this one... Booker (not T) debuting was epic!! - Wow, Owen Hart turning on his brother with the belts still in their grasps!! Didn't see that coming! So I suppose I'm becoming more emotionally attached to this booker now, seeing as my comments/thoughts were all with biased intake... Great. Keep this booker rolling off the real stuff!

1991 | The Second Half
Main Event Scene (June – December 1991) The feud between King of the Ring winner Rick Martel and the WWF Champion The Undertaker heated up heading into SummerSlam as Martel continuously looked to get revenge for the brutal beating that put him out of commission for over a year. At SummerSlam, however, The Undertaker defeated him to retain the title and was subsequently assaulted by Owen Hart.
Following the breakup of the Hart Brothers, Owen and Bret would feud throughout the summer and Jack Tunney would book the two in a match at SummerSlam which would see Owen come out on top thus guaranteeing himself a shot at the WWF Championship.
Owen and Undertaker feud would go back and forth with Owen getting the upper hand numerous times but The Undertaker promised that Owen would Rest in Peace at Survivor Series and that’s precisely what happened as The Undertaker defeated him to retain the championship but Owen wasn’t done and attacked The Undertaker for weeks and Jack Tunney announced that Owen would get his final shot at the Royal Rumble!
Meanwhile, Davey Boy Smith made his return to the WWF and immediately began a high profile feud with Ultimate Warrior which led to a huge 5-on-5 traditional Survivor Series elimination match between the two in which Davey Boy Smith’s team would come out victorious!
Mid-Card Scene (June – December 1991) Mr. Perfect continued his reign as Intercontinental Champion for much of the second half of 1991 feuding with the likes of Jimmy Snuka, Sgt. Slaughter and Brutus Beefcake. He met his match, however, when he was assaulted by Haku who absolutely demolished him following a match. On November 2, 1991, Haku successfully defeated Mr. Perfect to become the new WWF Intercontinental Champion. Haku would feud with The Warlord over the title and successfully retain it at Survivor Series before losing it once again to Mr. Perfect on December 1, 1991.
Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes would become embroiled in a very heated feud that saw the two beat each other bloody several times and culminated with Rhodes defeating Piper at Survivor Series in a Texas Bullrope match.
Tag Team Scene (June – December 1991) The Young Stallions continued to reign as the World Tag Team Champions and didn’t have any real threats to their reign although they were pushed to the limits by The Huffmans and Demolition, they were able to come out on top. That is until The Road Warriors returned and defeated them at Survivor Series on November 27, 1991 to become the new champions!
Releases and Debuts (June – December 1991) Road Warrior Animal (returned October 1991) Road Warrior Hawk (returned October 1991) Davey Boy Smith (returned September 1991)

Thoughts on Chapter: - As soon as the name "Owen Hart" came up, I thought he was going to win the world title. Glad this feud with Taker's continuing. - Honestly wouldn't be opposed to Undertaker keeping the belt through WrestleMania, and then being like "I've slayed the competition in front of me, blah blah blah, I need someone else to step up". Even though it was Rick Martel. - Pretty surprised to see Davey Boy Smith back and in the main event scene, and I wonder what he's doing now. - Wow, Mr. Perfect begins the second half as Intercontinental Champion, and ends the second half as Intercontinental Champion!! Just lost it in between there. - I scratch my head at the Warlord even being in there between Perfect's two title reigns. That's something, I'll be honest, I don't approve of or understand why. - Rhodes and Piper bloody? Priceless. - Okay, okay, the Road Warriors as champions!! Back, and yess!!!!! Now comes 1992...

1992 | The First Half
Main Event Scene (January – June 1992) The feud between Owen Hart and The Undertaker over the WWF Championship continued throughout January and culminated at the Royal Rumble where The Undertaker defeated Owen to retain the championship. The Undertaker would proceed to watch the Royal Rumble match from the rafters which Davey Boy Smith would win.
The Undertaker and Davey Boy Smith’s feud was a heated one and it looked as though Smith would end The Undertaker’s 2-0 streak at WrestleMania but it was not to be as The Undertaker came out on top. The feud didn’t end there, however, as Davey Boy Smith would finally claim the WWF Championship at the May 29, 1992 King of the Ring event.
Bret Hart would become the winner of the annual King of the Ring tournament and secured himself a shot at the WWF Championship at SummerSlam!
Mid-Card Scene (January – June 1992) Mr. Perfect’s second reign as Intercontinental Champion continued throughout the winter of 1992 including a 5-star matchup between him and Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania. Soon after WrestleMania, Owen Hart would assault Perfect and stake his claim for a shot at the championship which would come on June 9, 1992 where Owen would win the championship for the very first time in his career.
Following Owen’s title win, he would claim that he is the greatest champion of all time before being levelled with a Superkick from Shawn Michaels! The two would become embroiled in a nasty feud and Jack Tunney booked a match between the two for the title at SummerSlam.
Tag Team Scene (January – June 1992) The Road Warriors continued their reign as champions defeating Demolition at the Royal Rumble. They would begin a feud with The Huffmans which would see the two teams face off at WrestleMania where The Road Warriors would win the match and continue their reign as champions. Following ‘Mania, The Young Stallions demand another shot at the titles but fall just short of winning them.
Meanwhile, Shawn Michaels turns his back on Marty Jannetty (who would soon exit the company) and stated that he’s ready to break out on his own.
Releases and Debuts (January – June 1992) Marty Jannetty (released in March 1992)

I'm really liking this so far. Already we've seen Roddy Piper and Davey Boy Smith win the WWF Title. Hoping its only a matter of time before names like Mr. Perfect, Jake Roberts and Owen Hart become champion as well. Undertaker has also already had 3 great opponents at WrestleMania, and The Streak is starting off to a much better start in comparison to his real opponents. Keep this up man. Good reading.

Thoughts on Chapter: - Sad to see Undertaker's reign to come to an end (432 days is impressive), to Davey Boy Smith (honestly preferred Owen in this, but he'll get his shot someday) - Bret Hart versus Davey Boy Smith, and hopefully Bret can win and likely rival with Owen. - Oh wow, just read on and saw Owen Hart's Intercontinental Champion.... And how much do I have to pay you to write SummerSlam? At least this Hart/Michaels match... And no, it's not Bret, but still, pleeeease!!! - And was Owen's victory on a weekly episode of some sorts?? I'm not entirely sure... - Road Warriors are killing it right now! - You just couldn't resist keeping The Rockers fate the same, huh? I do want to go in about something though, and that is addressing "The Streak". I know your plans are to have The Streak last, for however long you want is your wish.. But 2-0 really isn't a "Streak" worth mentioning, in my opinion. It's when it's at 5, 6, 7.. THEN you recognize it. Bragging about being 2-0 is something a weakling heel would do, in my opinion, not a guy like The Undertaker, which I assume you're trying to build that same mystique about him at Mania. But yeah, that's really the only true negative comment I have, is addressing a 2-0 record at WrestleMania as "The Streak". Overall, you're doing an excellent job with this, and I'm being honest when I say I'm looking forward to these each time they're posted.
