Hydra's Web
Episode 1 - "A Task at Hand"
Jessica Drew lays on a hospital bed, barley conscious and breathing slowy. The door to her room opens. The shadows cover someone standing in the door way. It is her father, Jonathan Drew.
Jonathan: "Jessica..."
Jessica fades out as her father approaches.
~End of Scene~
Jessica wakes up and quickly sits up. She's no longer in a hospital. She looks all around at her surroundings, and notices that she is in a highly reenforced room. Almost like a state of the art prison cell. Jessica gets to her feet and she quickly turns to see a long mirror in front of her. She looks distraught.
Jessica: "HELP! Somebody help me!"
Jessica bangs on the mirror and part of it shatters off. She looks at the piece she broke off then back at the mirror. She slowly backs away from it as she realizes it is a 2 way mirror.
?: "Do not be afraid Jessica. You are safe now."
Jessica: "Where am I!? Answer me!"
Suddenly the door to her cell pops open. Jessica slowly opens the door and peaks her head out. She looks down into a long and narrow hall way. Jessica cautiously steps out of the room and makes her way down the hall. She reaches the end of the hall and hears something. She takes cover against the wall and waits a moment. She then slowy checks to see if anyone is there. The hall is clear. Jessica steps back and takes a deep breath. She steps out and someone in black military gear has a gun pointed in her face.
Guard: "Now where do we think we're going?"
Jessica steps back in fear as the guard keeps his weapon focused on her.
Guard: "I ought to put a bullet in your pretty litte face right now. Subjects aren't supposed to be wandering!"
The guard goes to hit her but Jessica blocks his attack and catches his arm. She notices a frightened expression on the guards face and she catches herself holding him back with ease. Jessica viciously slams the guard back first into the wall, knocking him out cold. She backs away, shocked at what she just did. Someone turns the corner and smirks as he sees what Jessica just did.
Count Otto Vermis: "Ms. Jessica Drew... We have much to discuss."
Jessica goes to run away in the opposite direction, but she runs right into someone else. She has a look of fear in her eyes as she looks right into a man wearing a cloak and skull mask. The Taskmaster! Taskmaster lays Jessica out with a right hand. Count Vermis approaches and stands next to Taskmaster as they look down at Jessica, whom is out cold.
Count Vermis: "We have much work to do. Bring her..."
Vermis heads down the hall as Taskmaster scoops Jessica up onto his shoulder and follows Vermis.
~End of Scene~
Jonathan: "Jessica..."
Jonathan snaps his fingers in her face as she starts to wake up.
Jessica: "Da.....Dad?"
Jessica begins to regain consciousness and sees Vermis sitting in a chair across from her. She tries to stand up, but she quickly realizes that she is strapped to a chair.
Jessica: "Who the hell are you!? Let me go! Do you hear me? Let me go!"
Jessica struggles to break her restraints but she fails to do so. She stops struggling and glares at Vermis with an eerie look.
Count Vermis: "Ms. Drew, struggle to break those restraints, and you will just continue to find failure. They are made of vibrainum steel aloy. They're indestructible. But rest assure Ms. Drew, you are safe. More safe than you could ever know. My name is Otto Vermis."
She continues to glare at him.
Count Vermis: "I understand your frustrations..."
Jessica violently interrupts him.
Jessica: "Oh! You understand my frustrations!? If you understand... Then start by telling me just where the hell I am!"
Count Vermis: "In time Ms. Drew... In time. I promise you, at the end of our conversation, you will have all the answers you seek, and you will be free to go if you so wish."
Jessica: "Tell me where my father is!"
Vermis sighs and puts his head down for a moment, he looks back up at Jessica with a gloomy look on his face.
Count Vermis: "You're father has passed Jessica. Almost 6 months ago... I'm terribly sorry."
Jessica has a distraught look on her face.
Jessica: "But... How?"
Count Vermis: "Do you remember when you were sick Jessica? Do you remember laying in that hospital bed, waiting for the end to come?"
Jessica slowly nods her head as her eyes fill with tears.
Count Vermis: "Your father was working on a cure for an unseemingly cureable poison in your veins.... Well he found that cure. But soon after, he discovered he too was infected by the poison. But he only had enough for one person. He chose you over himself Jessica... Your father died a hero."
Jessica: "But that still doesn't explain how I ended up here, and what has happened to me. That guard, I almost killed him!"
Count Vermis: "That you did Jessica. That is your cure."
Jessica wipes away a tear with a puzzled look on her face.
Jessica: "What? What do you mean my cure?"
Count Vermis: "Your father injected you with a dosage of lab tested, radioactive spider venom. It not only save your life, but it also gave to you extraordinary abilities. Abilities that you don't even know you have yet!"
Vermis stands up out of his chair and he unlocks Jessica's restraints.
Jessica: "Is that why you took me? To be your damn lab rat!?"
Jessica rubs her wrist and glares at Vermis with an intense look in her eyes.
Count Vermis: "My dear Jessica, no! It was your father who brought you to me. He brought you to us!"
Taskmaster steps up to Vermis' side and Jessica's eyes widen with fear as she looks at his skull like mask.
Count Vermis: "Do not be afraid Jessica. Your father has trusted me with his dying wish to take care of you, and to guide you on your new path of life."
Jessica: "And what if I trust myself to guide myself, are you going to try and stop me?"
Vermis laughs and shakes his head.
Count Vermis: "No Jessica. I will not. But if you must, there is the door my dear."
Jessica hesitates as she looks at a high tech looking door. She presses a button on a control panel and the door slides up and opens. A strong gust of wind and snow begins flying through the door way. Jessica looks shocked at her discovery outside.
Count Vermis: "Welcome to Antartica. And as you were saying?"
Jessica turns back to him with a frustrated look.
Jessica: "...What do you want from me?"
Count Vermis: "As I said before, I wish only to help you. Welcome to Hyrda, Ms. Drew!"
Jessica has a confused look on her face as she glares at Vermis. Vermis cracks a smirk.
~End of Scene~
Two months have passed since Jessica awoke. Jessica is in a large open spaced room. She is wearing a red and yellow catsuit and looks ready for battle.
Taskmaster: "Simulation, commence."
Jessica quickly finds herself in a dark warehouse, with barely any light. Suddenly, a group of a dozen ninjas come from nowhere and charge her. One by one, Jessica executes amazing fighting abilities. Two ninjas come from behind her, they each grab her arms. But Jessica back flips out of their grasps and slams the two ninjas into each other. Another ninja begins firing throwing stars. Jessica runs at him and dodges each star thrown at her. She puts her hand out and shoots a blast of bio electric energy from her hand! Or simply bettet known as a venom blast! Jessica stands tall over all of the ninjas. The simulation ends and Taskmaster appears in front of her.
Taskmaster: "Most impressive Agent Arachne..."
Jessica takes her gloves off and crosses her arms.
Jessica: "Its been two months, and I'm still cooked up in these simulation fights. When's it going to be time to actually take real bad guys down?"
Taskmaster pulls out a yellow envelope and hands it to her. Jessica opens it up and pulls out a stack of files and a photo of someone.
Jessica: "Carol Danvers?"
Taskmaster: "Danvers is a decorated enemy of Hydra. She leads a secret military group that threatens our very existence. Your mission, Agent Arachne is to takeout Carol Danvers by any means necessary."
Jessica skims through the files.
Jessica: "It says here she is a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. I thought we were battling the ones who threaten the Earth?"
Taskmaster: "She is a threat Agent Arachne! She is a threat to you, a threat to me, and most importantly, a threat to Hyrda! Do you understand? Perhaps I can find another agent whom is worthy of the task at hand."
Jessica's eyes light up with anger as Taskmaster turns away from her.
Jessica: "No!"
He slowy turns back around to face her.
Jessica: "I'll do it. I'll get it done. Any means necessary..."
Taskmaster: "Very good. We leave at dawn. I advise you to get rest Agent Arachne, you will need it."
Taskmaster leaves as Jessica continues to look over Carol Danver's file.
~End of Scene~
Jessica sits on her bed looking over Danver's files some more. She has them spread out all over.
Jessica: "...Why do they want you? Security chief? Kree technology? What is this stuff?"
There is a knock at her door and Jessica quickly gathers the files up and puts them back into the envelope. She hops out of her bed and opens the door to a man who looks to be just slightly a bit older than she.
Jessica: "Can I help you?"
Jared Kurtz: "Sorry, the names Jared. Jared Kurtz. I'm new to the facility, and Hydra in general. I'm just trying to find my way."
Jessica raises an eyebrow.
Jessica: "Are you an agent?l
Jared: "As a matter of fact, yes I am! I begin training tomorrow!"
He sees the envelope file sitting on Jessica's bed.
Jared: "Whoa! Is that a Hyrda targer file!?"
He goes to enter her room but she shoves him back. Jared looks surprised at Jessica's strength.
Jared: "Sorry... New here! Remember? I'll catch on. Uhhh, I'll see you around!"
Jessica: "...Right..."
He turns to leave and she goes to shut her door, but Jared rushes back and holds the door open. Jessica turns and looks at him with an annoyed expression on her face.
Jared: "You're name! I never got your name!"
Jessica: "Agent Arachne..."
Jessica uses her super strength and slams the door shut in Jared's face. She locks the door and turns to look at her suit and gear for tomorrow's mission. Jessica grabs the files and pulls Carol's picture back out.
Jessica: "Any means necessary..."
Jessica crumbles the photo up and drops it in a waste basket. She turns lights out and goes to bed.

Episode 2 - "The Truth
A woman is shown from behind doing pull ups in an exercise room. She is all alone for the moment. A soldier enters the room.
Soldier: "Chief Danvers. The Director is on the phone for you."
Carol Danvers: "Did he say what it was about?"
She continues doing pull ups.
Soldier: "Negative. He said it was urgent, and for Level 10 clearance only."
Carol jumps down from the bar and turns to the soldier.
Carol: "Level 10 huh? That is always something fun!"
Carol leaves the gym to answer the phone call regarding Level 10.
~End of Scene~
Count Otto Vermis sits at his chair in his quarter, looking out at the snow and wind pounding the Hydra compound. Taskmaster enters.
Taskmaster: "Do you really believe Agent Arachne is the one?"
Count Vermis: "Do you have suspicions?"
Taskmaster: "I do, Count Vermis. She was very questioning of her assignment."
Count Vermis: "She has the proper training and the right frame of mind. She will do just fine."
Taskmaster: "And if she doesn't?"
Count Vermis: "Fool me once... Shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me..."
Vermis spins his chair around to face Taskmaster.
Count Vermis: "If you believe she proves to be more of the problem rather than the solution, take a squadron with you. And make our newest agent apart of it."
Taskmaster: "Kurtz? Why him? He hasn't done anything to earn a place at my side!"
Count Vermis: "Agent Kurtz will prove to be more of an asset than you think. Trust me, I wouldn't ask this of you unless it would become a problem. And like you, I too believe there is a problem. If Agent Archne fails her mission, I don't just want Carol Danvers' head on my desk... I want Arachne's too."
Taskmaster: "Understood."
Taskmaster turns to leave but Vermis' speaks back up.
Count Vermis: "Agent Arachne is a weapon we can not afford to lose. She can never learn the truth, and she can never leave Hydra!"
Taskmaster: "I understand... Hail Hydra!"
Taskmaster and Vermis exchange glances, meanwhile, Jessica is up on the ceiling, listening the entire time. She has a shocked expression on her face as she crawls and sneaks through a ventilation shaft to get back to her room.
~End of Scene~
Jessica is in her living quarters, gearing up for her assignment. She has just slipped into her suit and gear. She looks at the mirror with an almost emotionless but determined look in her eye. She looks over at her desk and the photo she crumbled up and threw away of Carol Danvers is on it. There is a knock at her door.
Jessica: "...It's open!"
The door opens and Jared walks in. Jessica rolls her eyes as she realizes who it is.
Jared: "Hey there Agent Arachne."
Jessica: "What do you want?"
Jared: "Just a second of your time, wanted to go over and brief on today's mission."
Jessica looks even more annoyed as she thinks about the conversation between Taskmaster and Count Vermis.
Jared: "Taskmaster and the Count are setting you up..."
Jessica turns to him with a surprised look.
Jessica: "What did you just say?"
Jared: "I said they are setting you up! Taskmaster believes you don't have it in you to eliminate Carol Danvers and if you fail, he wants you dead."
Jessica looks interested to what he has to say and she begins to think it over.
Jared: "Taskmaster is sending myself and two other agents to watch your back."
Jessica: "Who are the other two agents? Do you trust them?"
Jared shakes his head.
Jared: "No. They are two of the top agents in Hydra. The first one, he goes just by the name of Bowman. He's an excellent sharp shooter and a master archer.
Jessica: "And the other?"
Jared: "Count Vermis' personal favorite... Madame Hydra. She's ruthless, and she lives by the orders of any means necessary."
Jessica turns away from him and she pulls her mask over her face, and fixes her hair. She's ready for battle.
Jared: "Look Arachne, I just want you to know that I have your back out there today. Even if that means I'm signing my death away."
Jessica: "Why?"
Jared looks confused.
Jared: "...Why what?"
Jessica turns to face him.
Jessica: "Why help me? You barely know me and I barely know you. Why are you telling me all of this?"
Jared: "Because like you, I know you can not trust Hydra. They are monsters. I may be new around here, but I've been with them for almost a year as a tech, they do some pretty nasty stuff. Stuff that isn't good for someone like you or me."
Jessica: "Than why do you stay sided with them?"
Jared lets out a depressed sigh and pulls a picture of a young boy and his mother.
Jared: "Because once you are Hydra... You can never leave."
Jessica looks at the photo and she instantly thinks of her father.
Jessica: "Thank you Jared..."
Jared nods his head and puts the photo away.
Jared: "I just want to help you Agent Arachne. I don't want to see the good be rid of anymore."
Jessica: "And don't call me Agent Arachne. That's not my name. Call me Jessica."
Jared smiles at her.
Jared: "Jessica huh? That's a beautiful name. Hey, I'll see you at the jet."
Jessica nods her head in appreciation as Jared leaves. She looks into the mirror and smiles.
~End of Scene~
A Hydra drop ship arrives in a undisclosed location, somewhere high in a mountainous area. A hatch opens up, and Jessica, Jared, Bowman, and Madame Hydra exit out. Taskmaster stands at the edge of the hatch and watches the four agents head off. Taskmaster motions something to the pilot and the drop shit ascends into the clouds. A few hours passes by and the four reach the secret facility that Carol Danvers' is in charge of.
Bowman: "So what's our point of entry?"
Jessica pulls her mask on and she adheres to the side of the wall! Jessica quickly crawls up the wall and onto the roof.
Jared: "Well isn't that something?"
Bowman and Madame Hydra shoot each other a look. Meanwhile, Jessica sneaks around on the roof. She notices a guard up in a watch tower. She sneaks to the bottom of the tower and climbs up. She hops into the tower and quickly but silently takes the guard down. Jessica heads down into the base. She checks her corners before moving forward, but she is suddenly stopped dead in her tracks by the noise of a gun cocking back.
Carol Danvers: "Take one more step... And your suit won't be the only thing red! Turn around, slowly."
Jessica puts her hands up and slowy turns around. She realizes that it is her target, holding her at gun point.
Jessica: "Carol Dan-"
Carol: "Shut up! And lose the mask!"
Jessica: "Please you need to listen to me. I'm-"
Carol: "I don't need to listen to a thing! Agent Arachne..."
Carol motions for Jessica to start walking as she keeps the gun focused on her. They enter into a room and Carol shuts the door.
Carol: "Did Hydra really think that it would be this easy? Our intel intercepted a package revealing that a Hydra agent would be coming here to kill me! But it looks like I'm the one who is going to squash the spider!"
Jessica: "You need to listen to me! Please!"
Carol: "And just why should I do that?"
Jessica: "Because I'm trying to save you! Yes, I was assigned the mission to take you out, but Hydra doesn't really seem to be who they say they are."
Carol rolls her eyes and shakes her head.
Carol: "And I'm actually supposed to believe that? A Hydra agent going rogue? What happened to "Once Hydra, Always Hydra?""
Jessica: "That's just it. I was never Hydra..."
Carol pulls back her gun and holsters it.
Carol: "You're Jessica Drew!"
Jessica looks surprised that Carol figured out who she really is.
Jessica: "How... How do you know my name?"
Carol: "You're father, he was working for us at first. Shield was providing him with specific tools to complete his research. But when you became sick, Hydra paid him off. Took all of your father's research, and just like that, you two disappeared.
Jessica: "Shield?"
Carol: "All you need to know is that we're the good guys Jessica. Hydra manipulated you to be a cold blooded killer, luckily I got to you before you got the chance to show that side of you off."
Jessica: "Carol, there's something you need to know. There are other agents here besides me, two of them are here to try and kill you. And now probably me too."
Carol: "What about the third?"
Suddenly an explosion rocks the building, knocking Carol and Jessica off of their feet
Madame Hydra: "Well well... I knew it'd be to good to be true!"
Bowman: "Wait until Taskmaster sees this!"
Jessica rises to her feet and gets in front of Carol.
Jessica: "If you want her... Then you're going to have to get through me first!"
Madame Hydra lets ouf a sinister burst of laughter.
Madame Hydra: "Now, now Agent Arachne! Remember where your place is."
Jessica: "Its certainly not with Hydra! I had my suspicions when Taskmaster gave me Danvers' file, and now I know for sure. Hydra is pure evil! And I want no part in it!"
Bowman: "So what's is going to be then? Wear that mask? Pretend you're a hero? Then what?"
Jessica: "THIS!"
Jessica blasts Bowman with a shot of venom blast! Madame Hydra charges Jessica and the two begin an intense back and forth fight! As the two battle, a second explosion goes off! A radiation alarm begins to go off.
Carol: "No! The Kree!"
Carol rushes out of the room and takes off towards the second explosion.
Madame Hydra: "Give it up Arachne! You aren't a hero!"
Madame Hydra gets the best of Jessica and she spins her into a choke hold. Jessica quickly flips Madame Hydra over her shoulder. And as she gets to her feet, Jessica charges her and drop kicks her right through the wall! Madame Hydra looks to be out! Jessica quickly realizes that Carol is missing, and she also runs to where the second explosion went off.
~End of Scene~
Jared: "AHH! Help!"
Carol runs into a lab and she sees Jared laying on the ground with a large piece of equipment laying on top of him.
Jared: "Please help me! You gotta' get this thing off of me!"
Just then, Jessica runs into the room and she sees Jared. Carol watches in awe as Jessica powers the debris off of Jared. He insists he is okay and Jessica turns to Carol.
Jessica: "Are you alright Danvers?"
Before Carol gets a chance to answer, a gun shot echoes off. Blood begins to flow from Carol's abdomen as she is shot by Jared. Jessica quickly turns around, only to be shot in the shoulder by Jared! Jessica collapses next to Carol. Jared walks over to her with a vile grin on his face.
Jared: "You know Jess... They truly thought you were the one!"
Jessica tries to stand up, but she is again shot by Jared! This time in the leg! Jessica yells in pain as Jared stands over her.
Jared: "It's a shame. I was just starting to like you too! But I'm really sorry when I have to tell you, that Hydra comes first. And now I'm going to not only have to take your new friend's here head to Count Vermis... But I'm going to have to take yours too!"
Jessica: "...I'll never go back. Even if I'm dead!"
Jared laughs.
Jared: "What was that? I couldn't fully understand you with the blood spitting from your mouth!"
Jessica: "I... Will... Never... Go... BACK!"
Jessica shoots her venom blast right at a reactor, setting off a massive explosion! Jared leaps for cover. Carol's body flies into giant viles of an unknown substance and Jessica is throw through a window and down to the river way below the mountain the base sits on. Bowman and Madame Hydra arrive to the reactor room and fail to find both Jessica's and Carol's bodies. They do how ever find Jared, he is barely alive. Madame Hydra calls for extraction as Bowman looks out the window Jessica was thrown out of.
~End of Scene~
Count Vermis: "It seems that you were correct about Agent Arachne."
Taskmaster: "They were unable to recover her body. Nor Carol Danvers."
Count Vermis: "No one should have survived. Agent Kurtz is lucky to be alive."
Taskmaster: "Agent Kurtz shot Danvers and Arachne. If that didn't kill them, then the explosion must have."
Count Vermis: "It's a shame really... She had potential."
Taskmaster leaves Count Vermis as Vermis turns his chair to look out at snow continuously pounding down.
~End of Scene~
A couple of deer drink from a calm river, but suddenly something startles them and they take off into the woods. A hand reaches out for the shore. It's Jessica! Jessica pulls herself to dry land. She is badly injured. She looks up at the sky and sees a helicopter flying over her as she falls unconscious..

Robber 2: "I don't just keep... AH SHIT!"

Robber 1: "C'mon man! We don't have time for that! We need to-"
Spider-Woman: "Hide?"
The two robbers are frozen with fear as Spider-Woman stands a few feet from them. She casts a smile.
Spider-Woman: "Sorry gentlemen... But not in my city!"
Spider-Woman spins and roundhouses the robber whom was trying to scoop up the money. The other takes off back down the alley way! Spider-Woman takes off after him. She is almost nearly behind him now. Spider-Woman leaps into the air and over the robber, landing in front of him! The robber is in tremendous pain but he begins laughing.
Robber 1: "You must be new in town! This is the Kingpin's city! Ya hear me honey!?"
Spider-Woman demonstrates her super human strength and lifts him into the air by his shirt.
Robber 1: "Oh God! Put me down! Please put me down!"
Spider-Woman: "Well it certainty doesn't look like you're having fun now, does it?"
Robber 1: "What are you!?"
Spider-Woman cracks a smile.
Spider-Woman: "I'm the Spider-Woman!"
She drops the robber down to his feet and knocks him out cold with a right hand. Sirens begin to close in and Spider-Woman quickly leaps to the side of a building and climbs up the wall and to the top of the building. She looks down into the alley from a tall building as police apprehend the two robbers. Spider-Woman pulls her mask off. It's Jessica!
~End of Scene~
Detective Jefferson Davis: "I don't know who this masked vigilante is just yet Captain... Yes Captain, I understand. You too."
Jefferson hangs his telephone up and looks over the statements the two masked robbers in the alleyway gave about the masked woman who stopped them.
Jefferson: "The Spider-Woman? These two must have had something in their systems... Who seriously comes up with this crap?"
Just then, there is a knock at his door.
Jefferson: "It's open! Come on in."
The door opens and a woman enters Detective Jefferson's office, dressed in business wear.
?: "Detective Jefferson. My name is Maria Hill. I'm with the San Fransico Trib."
Jefferson looks confused.
Jefferson: "Ms. Hill huh? How come I've never seen you before? It's not like the Tribune to send a new comer down here for a story."
Maria smiles and takes a seat.
Maria: "Well let's just say that I have a particular set of skills in my field that make me qualified for this job detective."
Jefferson looks skeptical for a moment but he answers her anyway.
Jefferson: "Well what can I do for you today Ms. Hill?"
Maria: "Last night, two bank robbers were stopped and apprehended by a masked vigilante going by the name of Spider-Woman..."
Jefferson sighs and rubs his eyes, trying to hide his annoyance of the Spider-Woman story.
Maria: "Is something wrong Detective? I was told you were the arresting officer of those two robbers. And their statements say that they were easily taken down by some sort of super woman. Is that true Detective?"
Jefferson goes to speak but Maria holds him off and pulls out a recording device.
Jefferson: "I'm sorry Ms. Hill... But our conversation is supposed to be off the record."
Maria: "I never mentioned anything about being off the record Detective."
Jefferson: "Well... I just did. And now you lost your opportunity to get your big story. Now please Ms. Hill, I have a job to do just like you."
Maria sets her recorder back into her purse and gets up out of the chair.
Maria: "Well Detective Davis, I hope you manage to figure out who this vigilante is and why she is doing it. But who knows... Maybe we need her. Good day Detective."
Maria turns and leaves with a determined look on her face. Jefferson shakes his head and goes back to his paper work.
~End of Scene~
Jessica stands in the bathroom of her apartment. She looks at the scar on her shoulder from when Jared shot her almost 6 months ago. She has flash backs of Hydra and the mission she was supposed to take out Carol Danvers, and the moment where she was almost killed. Jessica runs her hand across her scar. A knock at the door startles her. Jessica quickly grabs her shirt and puts it on over her tank top to hide her scarred shoulder. She exits her bathroom and sees her Spider-Woman suit and gear laying on her bed.
Lindsay McCabe: "Jess! Jess, you home?"
Jessica quickly hides her suit and gear under her bed and she rushes to the door and opens it. Lindsay greets her with a smile.
Lindsay: "Hey Jess! Everything okay, we were supposed to meet for breakfast."
Jessica bites her lip.
Jessica: "Yeah, I'm fine Linds. Look I'm really sorry about missing out breakfast date. Work was literally slamming last night."
Lindsay shrugs and pats Jessica on the shoulder and smiles.
Lindsay: "No worries! I can't imagine having your job. Working the night shift has to be rough!"
Jessica smiles and laughs.
Jessica: "Oh you have no idea!"
Lindsay: "Well hey, I have to run. I just wanted to make sure everything was alright. I'm supposed to be at work in 15. There's this new guy there, he can't walk but the man is a human computer. Aside from you, I've never met anyone else this smart!"
Jessica smiles and nods her head up.
Lindsay: "Well get some rest Jess! I'll catch you later. Bye!"
Jessica: "Cya Linds, take care!"
Jessica shuts the door and her police scanner she has begins going off.
Dispatcher: "Caller is reporting that they found a person in a dumpster, caller is reporting the victim has several bite marks on his neck. Says the victim is not breathing."
Jessica has a curious look on her face as she listens in on the call,
Jefferson: "Dispatch this is Detective Davis. I'll check it out, send EMTs and have back up on stand by."
Dispatcher: "10-4 Detective."
Jessica grabs a hoodie and walks out the door.
~End of Scene~
A crowd has gathered in what is now a busy alley way. Police have the alley taped off. Detective Davis makes his way through the crowd and he heads over to the scene. He approaches an officer and a forensic analyst whom are taking notes of the victim and scene.
Jefferson: "Alright, what'd we got?"
The forensic analyst turns to him.
Forensic: "Well it looks like we have a crazed biter on the loose Detective. Here, check this out."
They approach the dumpster and Jefferson has a disgusted look on his face as he looks at the murder victim. The victim has multiple lacerations on his body and has two noticeably bite marks around his neck.
Jefferson: "Those don't look like human bites. What do you suppose did this?"
Forensic: "I don't know. I thought the same thing until I analyzed the teeth marks better. Look here."
The forensic analyst puts rubber gloves on and points to one of the bite marks.
Forensic: "Those are human teeth marks... But they seem to be sharper. More on the edge. Hell, it almost looks like we have a real life vam-"
Jefferson sticks his hand up.
Jefferson: "Don't say it... We already have claims of a masked woman going by the name of Spider-Woman and going around beating up bad guys. I don't even want to hear, let alone talk about a crazed lunatic who thinks they're a vampire... This isn't the sci-fi channel. I want this body taken back to the labs. Run DNA test after DNA test. I want to know what sick bastard could do this to someone."
Forensic: "Yes sir. Right away Detective."
The forensic analyst motions for the coroners to bag the body up. Jefferson walks away. Jessica stands at the front of the crowd, she listening in on what Jefferson and the forensics analyst were talking about. Jessica makes her way back through the crowd and starts down the side walk. She hears a frightening scream. Jessica looks up and can tell the scream is coming from an apartment building. Jessica runs to the door and sees a sign the reads "condemned." Jessica rams her shoulder into the door and it flies open. Jessica darts up the stairs, making her way through the worn down building. She pulls her hood up to conceal her face as she reaches the door from where the screaming is coming from. Jessica kicks the door open and suddenly, the screaming stops. Jessica cautiously makes her way into the apartment. It looks as if no one has lived in it for years, the ceiling is falling, holes are in the walls, and the place is just completely run down. Suddenly, someone comes from behind Jessica, grabs her, and tosses her right through the wall! Jessica falls into another room. Jessica looks up a someone in an all black trench and hood. The hooded figure grabs her by her throat and picks her up, but Jessica quickly counters and fights the person off. She beats the hooded figure with combo strikes of punches and finishes off with a drop kick. The hooded figure falls through a dining table, but is quickly to it's feet.
?: "You're her... Aren't you? The one they're calling Spider-Woman..."
Jessica's face is kept hidden from her hood, but she notices the hooded figure in front of her smirk and show two sharp front teeth.
Jessica: "And you're the one murdering innocents and putting holes in their necks!"
The figure removes his hood. He has long white hair, bright red eyes, pale skin, and razor sharp teeth.
?: "I was hoping for a quick meal. But now I have an prize standing in front of me. But please... Call me Blackout!"
Blackout and Jessica charge each other. Blackout scoops Jessica up by her waist and he runs her right through a brick wall and into the hall way of the building. Jessica fights her way to her feet and the two exchange blows. Jessica starts getting the better of Blackout until he swipes his hand and gashes her in the arm. Blackout's nails are almost claw like! Jessica quickly charges and fires a venom blast! Debris goes everywhere, and as the smoke clears, Blackout is gone, and Jessica is by herself.
~End of Scene~
Jessica is back at her apartment. Its nearing 11 at night. She has her gash on her arm bandaged up. Her television is on, Maria Hill is reporting the small explosion at the condemned apartment complex earlier today.
Jessica: "I can't let him get away again..."
Jessica heads into her bedroom and opens up a wardrobe closet. Her Spider-Woman suit and gear is displayed in front of her. Jessica suits up and heads off into the night. Spider-Woman stands at the edge of a building, looking down at the condemned building she encountered Blackout at. The news crews and the crowd have come and are long gone. All is quiet. Spider-Woman leaps down onto the roof of the apartment complex and enters through the door to the roof. She makes her way down to the top floor. She senses that she's not alone.
Spider-Woman: "Blackout! I know you're here. I know you want to finish what you started. I'm here now. So why don't you come and try it!"
She suddenly begins to hear footsteps. Spider-Woman turns and looks down a long hallway, and at the end of that hallway, Blackout! Spider-Woman and Blackout have a staredown.
Blackout: "I'm going to have great pleasure tearing that mask from your face! Then... I'm going to tear the flesh from your body."
Spider-Woman: "You talk a big game. Now back it up! Because to me, you're nothing but a sparkling in the sun vampire wanna-be..."
Blackout laughs.
Blackout: "You humor me... It's a shame really. You would make a lovely counter part. But my teeth. I need to sink them into your throat and drain every last ounce of blood you have! Prepare to die Spider-Woman..."
Spider-Woman: "Always..."
Spider-Woman and Blackout charge each other!
