Hmm. Panthers rescind franchise tag from Josh Norman. He's an unrestricted free agent...

Duuude trading up for a QB makes no sense. I wonder if they wanted to get above Dallas for a certain player, but idk. This is hilarious Nah. The Eagles LOVE both Goff and Wentz, so they'll take whoever the Rams don't. I did NOT want this trade, and I'm SOOOO pissed it happened. Unless we throw a curveball and draft Jalen Ramsey... Yeah, Jalen Ramsey would be the only guy I could see them trading up for, but that's waaaaaaaaay too much for a corner/safety. But anyway, the Eagles are awful. They spent money to retain Sam Bradford, then they signed Chase Daniel to one of the best backup contracts in the NFL (saying he'd get a chance to compete for the job), and then they sacrifice all those picks to trade up for a quarterback? You can't play three quarterbacks, so they'll keep their remaining spots on the field subpar and fail to have a complete team. And I doubt Daniel, Bradford, Goff, or Wentz can carry a whole team on their back.

Hmm. Panthers rescind franchise tag from Josh Norman. He's an unrestricted free agent... The Panthers are making their demise so easy with hitting the self-destruct button. With Davis and Kuechly battling injuries, there was TWO players on the Panthers who actually kept them in the Super Bowl, and that was Kony Ealy and Josh Norman. Really without Norman, I don't see Carolina having nearly the record they would've had last year, and you let him walk for nothing now? And it's not like Carolina has a top-10 pick to go get a new corner, so this might be the dumbest thing I've seen a team do in a LOOOOOONG time!! Even Denver isn't this stupid, because they understand just because they can't think of a deal now doesn't mean you have to release that player from their tag in April... What idiots.

Professor Berch You're not the only one to not like the Eagles trade... Sam Bradford isn't too thrilled either, according to reports. But Ian Rapaport says there'll be no trades involving Bradford or Daniel, which makes no sense either. And for the record, I've found ONE Eagles fan who likes the trade.... One.

Plus you keep all those picks to fill out the rest of your team - Not forgetting Philly needs massive offensive line help.

He's overrated and nothing but a talker. I'll be more than happy to see the Redskins blow all that money on him and not Cousins.

I'm sure Captain Kirk is their #1 priority, so unfortunately we won't see him go anywhere, with or without a Norman deal. Here's my take on Norman... He's so arrogant, and he doesn't exactly have the right head on his shoulders (remember when he got in a training camp fight with QUARTERBACK Cam Newton just last year?). However, he's been able to shut down the best in the game. Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham, Demaryius Thomas, Larry Fitzgerald, and so many others. He was just amazing last season and I could see why he didn't receive the Enemkpali treatment after punching the QB.

Lmao you want the truth, man? I don't really care, Norman had one good season, and half a good season the year before this one. He wants to get paid like he's fucking Deion Sanders, when he's not played like a #1 corner until the final year of his contract. He think's he is that good, well we'll see it when the regular season comes. Norman, in my opinion, will prove he's a product of the system, just like Malcolm Smith when he went from Seattle to Oakland and choked. I'm a Norman fan, don't get me wrong, but he's a product of the system, and that's it.
In fact, we (meaning Carolina) play Washington this year, and I'm going to love seeing Devin, Kelvin, Greg, just making him look like a bitch all over the field. Lets not forget Norman originally REFUSED to sign the Franchise Tag because he wanted more money, he wouldn't even talk it through after he signed the Tag, which he could do. But no, he wanted to hold out and be a drama queen. Then, he won't take any lower then being the highest paid CB, because he thinks he's fucking Darrelle Revis, who has consistently been a top corner, BUT NO. HE'S NOT. He had, like I said, 1 and a half season(s) of good play. He chased the money, which most people wouldn't blame him for, but as much as he claimed he "LOVED CAROLINA" Sure doesn't fucking seem like it
In conclusion, Fuck Josh Norman.

Norman might be one of those guys that, now that he's getting paid, he'll regress. And with $50M guaranteed, he knows he's getting PAID for sure.

"you want the truth, man?" ... Actually yes. That is what these threads are for lol And I get 98% of what you're saying, but I don't believe he was necessarily a product of the system. He shut down some of the top corners in the game this season, so I don't know what that has to do with the system, as he just reigned his superiority over them this past season. Then again, back to what you said, he hasn't "dominated" for long. He's shown the ability, but it's just getting the drive too. Norman might be one of those guys that, now that he's getting paid, he'll regress. And with $50M guaranteed, he knows he's getting PAID for sure. Funny you should mention that, as I was just thinking after Richie's posts how players suddenly step up in contract years and take over the league, get paid, and then falter - and that's what recently happened to DeMarco Murray. This time, I guess we're both rooting for the same to happen to Joshua Norman. lol I wouldn't be surprised if he regresses, but if he doesn't, he's still got the ability to shut the NFC East receivers down.

Then again, back to what you said, he hasn't "dominated" for long. He's shown the ability, but it's just getting the drive too. What it has to do is with the system is that it plays to his strengths. Every defense is a different kind of defense; we have the Man Defense Systems, Zone Defense Systems, Cover 2 and Cover 3 (yes both are primarily zone defenses but have been times in history where a defense is played only in that cover) there are all different kinds of systems. Certain players thrive in certain systems, it plays to their strengths. Carolina is primarily a Zone Defense team, which could be part of the reason he thrived so well. Going back to how I mentioned Malcolm Smith; the man DOMINATED in Seattle, but when he went to Oakland he fell off the radar. He was a product of the system.
