The Los Angeles Lakers and Luke Walton have agreed to a multi-year deal to become next Head Coach. Luke Walton spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach on the Golden State Warriors. He also was a role player on the Lakers from the year 2003 through 2012. He won two championships as a player with the Lakers and one championship as an assistant coach for the Warriors.

Now are you sold on Luke Walton? Kinda have to be. I was never opposed to him being the Head Coach but was hesitant to get on the bandwagon. I know he has all the tools to become a successful coach in the NBA and I think he's the better fit for this young team than some other options out there might be.

With the rumors that the Kings are willing to listen to offers for DeMarcus Cousins, it gor me thinking about who je could possibly end up with and unfortunately the Boston Celtics look like the team to go with. I'm unsure of their cap situation but if Boston can pull off a trade for Boogie thus reuniting Boogie and Isaiah Thomas, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin Durant follow suit which scares me. At the same time I don't really want Boogie even though I think he's a phenomenal player. I'm just not willing to give up Randle or Russell in a trade for Boogie. I really want to take this Laker rebuild slow instead of trying to force a quick rebuild but if the Lakers end up with Boogie and/or KD I won't complain.

I think it's time I talk about something actually related to the NBA Playoffs. Clippers clipped again. Blazers advance to the second round of the Playoffs where they will be eaten alive by the Golden State Warriors in a sweep. The OKC and San Antonio series will be a good one but I call San Antonio winning in 6. Toronto and Indiana are heading to Game 7, I'm going to be pulling for Indiana in that one and for Miami in their Game 7 against the Hornets so we can see a rekindling of that brief Eastern Conference rivalry between Miami and Indiana.

PG: Russell SG: Ingram SF: Durant PF: Randle C: unknown That's your dream scenario there in Los Angeles, or it should be. I wouldn't know who could be there starting at center, but signing Durant would be excellent to take Brandon Ingram under his wing, as you emphasize length and size. I understand it but if the Lakers draft Ingram then I don't want Durant. I'd much rather run with PG. Russell SG. Clarkson SF. Ingram PF. Randle C. Festus Ezeli? Biyombo? Maybe we run small with something like PG. Russell SG. Clarkson SF. Ingram PF. Larry Nance Jr C. Randle Nance and Randle being interchangable there. Defensively, that's probably a mess but might be worth experimenting with. I'm glad the Lakers have a coach who will be willing to play some small ball.

Honestly, Brandon Ingram strikes me as a shooting guard more than a small forward at the NBA level, but that's just me. Maybe one day can change to small forward, but that's after bulking up a bit (if he ever does). And Bismack Biyombo would be a disaster. Spitting on every Lakers big man great.... even Dwight Howard.

Honestly don't care about getting "the next great Laker big man". I care more about getting someone that fits the system and complements the young core. I just kind of threw Biyombo in there since he might be available.
