A 43-41 deficit up north in Toronto at halftime with Whiteside not 100% is not bad. It's been a collective team effort by Miami to stay the course, while every shooter is under 50% from the floor (min. 3 shot attempts).
Toronto's first 18 points came from Valancunias and DeRozan, but DeMarre Carroll and Terrence Ross has made their mark in the second quarter of this game.
I think it'll be crucial for Miami to establish dominance inside the paint and keep the game within 4-5 points headed into the 4th quarter, if they can't have the lead. It's so important to keep the crowd volume to a minimum, which I feel Jonas Val would be the spark to that plug... If the Heat escape this defensive game with a win on the rival's court in Game 1, that'll shatter the home court advantage, but everyone (Deng, Johnson, Wade, Dragic) need to pitch in offensively and Whiteside on the defensive end if that's going to happen.

Miami regroups in overtime to beat the Raptors up in Toronto, 102-96 for the first game of the series. Wade, being the guy to close it out like always.
But wow, after the game, there was no celebration or any emotion from either squad. After a grueling opening round for both teams, going to seven games, and then to open this series with a defensive-minded overtime outing, these teams are already tired. My prediction is if the Cavaliers (or the Hawks) can get out of that series in 5 games, they'll roll either the Raptors or Heat, just because those are two teams who will have nothing left in the tank.

Wow... So as a Heat fan, I have to respect Kyle Lowry. After Game 1, there is video of him being the only guy in the gym, practicing his shot... After the game he had (which is underwhelming aside from a half court heave), that is dedication to get better and I 100% admire it.
If he wasn't playing Miami, I'd root for him not to miss a shot next game, but oh well....... Point is, I'd like to see this more than anything negative in sports this week.

Heat down only 48-41 at halftime, which is closer than we should be. Toronto went ice cold and until the 1:45 mark, we were still constantly down 9-11 points since the first quarter, which at one point we led 13-6 in.
Officiating has been alright, though Dragic got busted open, blood on his face, and HE got called to the foul, but it was obviously a bang-bang play in transition, so I don't blame the referees necessarily.
I didn't expect us to come in and win this game, so I don't believe we will, and we'll likely lose it by about 12-13 points, tying the series up. It'd be huge for Miami to gain the 2-0 series lead and head to South Beach for the next two games, but I doubt that will happen. If it does, Joe Johnson needs to be a major factor with Dragic and Whiteside banged up, as Joe's been deadly with the isolation game, which will help us in not turning the ball over and giving up easy transition points.

86-86, headed to second overtime of this second round in Game 2!!
Last game's narrative was Miami dominated, Toronto came back and forced overtime with a 3, and then the Heat ended up taking over in overtime and winning. Now this game, Toronto dominated and should've won outright, but Miami came back and forced overtime with a 3, and now I fear it's the Raptors who redeem Game 1 and tie the series.
Let's hope not, but we'll need Wade to come up huge this overtime period.

The Thunder once AGAIN fall apart late in the game to lose, as the Spurs take control of the series 2-1.
Durant would be the second dumbest man alive to re-sign with the Thunder.
First is obviously LeBron when he chose to do things "his way" to go back to Cleveland.

Jonas Valsooenuwasauce is out for the rest of the series Aw man.. Did this come for a real source?? I honestly thought he'd be able to go back in yesterday, or if not, certainly play in Game 4. Whiteside's listed as day-to-day with a knee sprain, but doubt he plays in the next couple games... I honestly thought Whiteside got the worse injury of the two, but wow. Even as a Heat fan, I hate when any player gets hurt, especially during playoff time. I don't want to play the games that way.

Go Cavs. Want them to finish off the Hawks so we can move on. Cavs are going to The Finals regardless and if they end up taking on the Warriors then I'm going for the Cavs. Can't believe I'm rooting for LeBron but after Kobe's retirement I'd like to appreciate him now before he becomes a shell of himself plus I hate the Warriors and don't want them to become a dynasty.

Thunder beat the Spurs 95-91 in San Antonio, taking a 3-2 series lead.
Wow!! OKC pressing hard to keep Durant this offseason, huh?
