Beware The Bat - Episode 1 - Pilot
Scene 1
The show begins on a rainy night in what looks like the worst part of Gotham City. We see Bruce Wayne in a black overcoat as he holds an umbrella above his head to protect himself from the rain. He walks down the rugged sidewalks as he thinks to himself.
Bruce Wayne: “I've been away for so long.. I've been running... hiding... trying to stay away from the city that made me the man I am today. The man I've become... who am I? I've spent most of my adult life trying to distract myself from that question. Trying to distract myself from... this.”
Bruce Wayne stops at an alley right next to a theater.
Bruce Wayne: “This is it. This is where Bruce Wayne died.”
Bruce has a flashback back to when he was just a child. His parents are stopped by a random mugger who shoots both Martha and Thomas Wayne right in front of young Bruce.
Bruce Wayne: “I've replayed that moment in my head everyday since it happened. I've asked myself the same questions and I can never figure out the answer. Why'd it have to happen? Was it fate or destiny? Is God just that cruel? It doesn't matter what the answers are. What has happened is done and there's no changing it.”
Bruce looks over the alley before turning around. He looks down and continues thinking.
Bruce Wayne: “This place... this horrible place. The place where the Wayne Family died... it's the same place that The Bat was born.”
Bruce looks up toward the camera as we transition to the opening sequence where several bats swarm towards the screen as the the Bat symbol appears and around it the words “Beware The Bat” appear.
Scene 2
When we return from the break we see Batman in full gear crouched on a nearby rooftop looking down towards a sleazy and nearly empty bar. Batman is chatting with his butler Alfred through an earpiece in his cowl as he stakes out the area.
Alfred: “I don't quite understand why you're doing this sir. You've only been at this for a month and you're already looking to take down one of the top criminals in Gotham.”
Batman: “It's only recon, Alfred. I just want to learn what they're planning. Falcone owns this bar and I'm pretty sure he's using it as some kind of headquarters or a base to make deals.”
Alfred: “Pretty sure? And if you're wrong? There's probably a cat stuck in a tree somewhere or … a couple being mugged.”
Batman: “Shut up, Alfred. I see someone”
Batman looks down at the bar and sees Harvey Dent aka Two-Face walk into the bar with two large bodyguards. As Harvey enters, someone flips the bars sign from 'OPEN' to 'CLOSED'.
Batman: “It's Harvey Dent. He entered the bar and then the bar closed. Bars don't close at 9 PM at night.”
Alfred: “Harvey Dent? The former District Attorney?”
Batman: “Or as he prefers to be called now... Two-Face.”
Alfred: “That's fitting considering what happened to his face.”
Batman: “I need to get closer. I need to hear what he's saying to Falcone.”
Alfred: “Now, how do you plan on doing that? It's not like you can fly and shoot lasers like that thing in Metropolis.”
Batman: “It's not a thing. It's a man or more accurately, an alien. There's a glass window, I can use my amplified Bat-ears to amplify the vibrations coming off of the glass window.”
Alfred: “AN ALIEN!?”
Batman grapples down from the rooftop that he was on down to the roof of the bar. He attaches some kind of device to the glass and listens in on the conversation.
Scene 3
Two-Face is seated at one table while Carmine Falcone is seated at a table not far from him.
Two Face: “If you've got the cash then I'll get my men ready to go after that big shipment of military grade weapons that's being shipped out of Gotham tonight.”
Carmine Falcone: “That was NOT our deal. The deal was going to be that I give you the 25 grand after you get the weapons from Wayne Enterprises. It's only fair Harvey.“
Two-Face gets angry and pulls out a large revolver from behind him and points it directly at Falcone's head. All of Falcone's men pull out their guns as Two-Face's men do the same.
Two-Face: “It's only fair? It's only FAIR!? You want fair?”
Two-Face pulls out a coin. One side is badly burned and unrecognizable while the other side looks like it's in mint condition.
Two-Face: “This. This is fair. We'll flip for it.”
Two-Face shows Carmine the the clean side of the coin.
Two-Face: “This side. This saves your life. If it lands on this side then you give me the money now and I'll go get those weapons you want so bad.”
Two-Face shows Carmine the damaged side of the coin.
Two-Face: “Now, if it lands on this side then... well, I shoot you in the face right here and now and I go get those weapons for myself!”
Two-Face gets ready to flip the coin as he whispers psychotically to himself.
Two-Face: “This... This is... fair.”
Two-Face flips the coin as it lands in his hand. Two-Face shows his men that it landed on the clean side of the coin. Two-Face's goons proceed to shoot Carmine's men excessively with their Uzi handguns. Falcone is visibly startled as he realizes that he's most likely going to meet his demise at the hands of Two-Face. Two-Face shows Falcone the damaged side of the coin.
Two-Face: “It looks like it's just not your lucky day is it?”
Two-Face flicks he safety off on the gun and looks ready to pull the trigger when suddenly we hear glass shatter and smoke fills the room. We only see glimpses of Batman taking down Two-Face's goons with ease as Falcone and Two-Face run in opposite directions away from Batman. As the smoke clears, Falcone and Two-Face both get a good look at The Batman.
Carmine Falcone: “What the hell is that!?!?”
Batman uses his grappling gun to pull Falcone by the legs towards him and temporarily disables him while Batman runs after Two-Face. Batman almost catches Two-Face but one of Two-Face's goons pulls up in front of the bar in a van and shoots Batman in the torso with a shotgun. Batman's armor is bulletproof but the force of the shot knocks him down as Two-Face speeds away in the van.
Alfred: “Is everything alright, sir?”
Batman: “No, Dent got away but I did manage to capture Falcone. Send an anonymous tip to the GCPD about Carmine Falcone. They should have everything they need in here to lock him up in Blackgate. Also, tell Lucius to postpone the weapons shipment. ”
Batman grabs Falcone by the leg and tosses him up on the bar and ties him down there before using his grappling hook to go back up through the now shattered glass window.
Scene 4
When we return from the break, we are back in the bar 20 minutes later where Falcone is still tied down as Lieutenant Jim Gordon and Detective Harvey Bullock arrive at the scene of the crime where a crime scene has been set up by some uniformed officers. Gordon looks at all of the shattered glass, the dead mobsters, Falcone tied to the bar and the overall mess that was made of the place.
Jim Gordon: “Falcone talking at all?”
Uniformed Officer #1: “No, sir. He said that he's not going to tell us anything.”
Jim Gordon: “That's fine. We might've got it all on tape.”
Gordon points to a security camera in the corner.
Harvey Bullock: “I'll go search for where the camera feed might've been going to.”
Jim Gordon: “You do that. I'm going to get Falcone out of here and see what else might be here.”
A uniformed Police Officer walks up to Jim Gordon.
Uniformed Officer #2: “Excuse me, Lieutenant Gordon?”
Jim Gordon: “Yes? What is it.”
Uniformed Officer #2: “We found logs of several drug and arm deals that have taken place within the past year along with several pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine.”
Jim Gordon: “We've got him.”
Jim Gordon seems pleasantly surprised as we transition to the next scene.
Scene 5
We are now in what appears to be Bruce Wayne's bedroom as Alfred opens up the curtains to let in all of the sunlight on Bruce, who is still in bed.
Alfred: “I understand that you'd like to lie there and rest after last night but bruised ribs or not, you've got a meeting at Wayne Enterprises in an hour.”
Bruce Wayne: “I'd rather be fighting mobsters and psychopaths then deal with the suits at Wayne Enterprises.”
Alfred: “I have everything set up for you, sir. Breakfast is waiting and your suit has been ironed to perfection.”
Bruce Wayne: “It's not the suit I want to be wearing though.”
Alfred: “Quit your whining and get ready. This meeting is vital to the future success of Wayne Enterprises and it's partners... at least that's what Mr. Fox told me.”
Scene 6
We are now in the Gotham City Police Department where Lieutenant Jim Gordon and Detective Harvey Bullock are in a room together where they are looking at a TV in Gordon's office.
Harvey Bullock: “We really got lucky finding that tape.”
Jim Gordon: “Yeah, put it in. I need to see what the hell happened there last night.”
Harvey presses play on a remote and the TV shows a blurry video of what occurred last night with Two-Face and Carmine Falcone. We see exactly what happened last night up until the point where Batman crashes through the glass and it's hard to see what's happening through the smoke but when it clears we get a good luck at Batman.
Jim Gordon: “Freeze it right there!”
The video stops on Batman as Gordon and Harvey both look it over.
Harvey Bullock: “What the hell is that?”
Jim Gordon: “It's some kind of Bat... man.”
Scene 7
We now see Bruce Wayne in an elevator at Wayne Enterprises. He gets out of the elevator and walks down a hall to a room where a long table full of big executive type people sit around a long table. We hear a voice as Bruce Wayne enters the room.
Voice: “Bruce Wayne. Nice of you to join us.”
Bruce looks somewhat surprised as the camera turns from Bruce's face all the way to the other end of the table where Lex Luthor is sitting.

OT - It's just a pilot. I'm only just getting the feel for it and not really sure what the usual length is going to be.
